I may be another outlier but I tend to agree with your observations. I'm also curious as to the source of the video. Was it a city traffic camera? If so, there must be some sort of ongoing traffic significance to have one in this location.
I'm not too worried. This trip is one of the reasons I bought the vehicle.

There is one quarter mile descent to a camp area past the parking area that is a REAL sand challenge back up.
I just replaced my Pirelli "screamer" Scorpions with the Michelin LTX M/S2 after 14K miles. (I have the first version on my Kia EV6 GT-L and they have been awesome after 20K miles.)
I'm off to White Pocket in AZ to test them out. The "light truck" designation will provide the level of "bad...
There is a marginal ChargePoint at Starbucks in Twin Falls. The Tesla station at the Twin Falls Visitor Center is an older V2 site that can’t use the adapters. (Elon: If you can send someone to Mars, you can make V2 chargers work with the adapters!)
The State of Nevada is SCREAMING for a...
Did you consider the Defender LTX Platinum version that has been discussed? I have the original Defender version on my Kia EV6 GT-L that has been awesome. The SCREAMER Pirelli's on my R1S have to go.
This "I'm the anointed purveyor of omniscience" attitude for everyone else concerning every feature is getting really irritating. Give us all the options and let the marketplace decide.
Safelight just sealed a quarter sized chip that was hit dead center on my R1S. Some little spider tracks but it's no worse than a bug splat. My low profile vehicles rarely get a stone but high profile vehicles were prone. I went through two windshields on a Jeep Overland. Five windshields on...
It went into the bottom "weather" cover below the spare tire tray and moved forward due to the angle. Nothing to disturb. If you want a brief search party, put it into highest ground clearance. There are a few screws holding the panel. If it is less than $10 and replaceable, forget it and...
Bosch was fined $100 million for their part in the Dieselgate scandal. Which gave us Electrify America through VW's settlement.

If RAN and/or Tesla did Winnemucca, Wendover, Austin, and Ely the western travel could begin without stress. Get off your collective butts marketing people! EA really doesn't care and Shell is a marketing joke.
The RAN in Truckee CA is great with a “high end” coffee shop and bakery next door. (The focaccia is to die for.)
There is a Tesla V3 SC in Fernley, NV but that is the last reliable charger until Salt Lake City. Flakey EA chargers and L2 at hotels are your only option. I have done this...
