They do not talk to each other. They go into a 100 amp sub panel that also has some household circuits. With both running they could pop the 100 amp circuit, but I try to stagger the charging.
You will likely be fine without mirror extensions. The Basecamp is 7 feet wide where the wide body Airstreams are 8' 5.5" wide. That will be an awesome combo! I love the basecamps.
I haven't found extenders that fit. I bought some universal fit at Walmart, but they slid off the end because the mirrors are so thick. Still looking for extended mirrors. Or I may just add side cameras to my trailer.
I was never an off-road enthusiast, my trucks have either been street oriented or currently a one-ton pickup that beats the crap out of you off road. But the 20's have opened a whole new world. I can easily get to areas that I never would have dreamed. My son and I enjoy exploring the desert of...
Yes, I picked up the hammock version as my dog likes jump in the front seat. I have the hose off version since she also loves to go swimming, or at least try in any amount of water. I'm very happy, but it was expensive.
It's a long shot, but if you can't get the charger installed soon enough, check plug share, sometimes people will make their charger available for you to use for a bit.
I have the exact same setup.
1. The lack of a lock is a minor concern for me. I am not going to worry too much about it right now, but it would be nice if 1up would create some security, I'd buy it.
2. My bikes wobble quite a bit too, I've driven pretty aggressively up some curvy roads and...
I have the 1up rack as others on the forum have suggested. My Pivot Trail 429 size Medium fits just fine.
So far really happy with it. Not as easy as my Thule hitch rack, but nice to have the bikes out of the way and this will work while towing.
I thought it handled great. I usually tow with a 2011 F350 with the 6.7 diesel, I think having the weight of the battery and probably the weight being so low really kept it stable. No problem with power, but I was babying it a little since I didn't know how the range would be. I was getting...
I thought I would share some details of a quick trip we took this weekend. I got my Rivian delivered Friday, 6/24, so of course I have to go give it a good run.
Reno is at 4500 feet, Donner Pass is 7000 ft and then back down to the campground (White Cloud) at 4200 feet, 86 miles one-way...
I live in Reno and frequently head over Donner pass with my 25' Airstream, curious to see how the hills impact the range while towing. I'm scheduled for delivery this Friday, so I'll play around a bit.
For the best, get a pro-pride hitch if you're willing to spend some cash and loose some payload due to its weight. I have a blue ox that I like a lot. Easy to set up and works great to control away.
The only time I have been required to install chains over Donner pass was while towing. Even with my 4wd F350, we needed chains on the rear axle and drag chains on the trailer. In hindsight, we should have just turned around rather than spending two hours laying in the snow and slush getting all...
The deal breaker for me is lack of payload sufficient to haul my 25foot airstream and under 200 miles while towing. The 300 mile pack I think has enough payload for me, but the 400 mile pack is unknown.
