  1. Compiled payload ratings for R1T (GVWR, GAWR, Payload Stickers)

I don't have easy access to the trailer now, but airstream says the GVWR is 7300 lbs with a net carrying capacity of 1700 lbs putting an empty trailer at 5600 lbs. The only bigger mod I've done with mine is replacing the heavy lead-acid batteries on the tongue with lithium under the front bed...
  2. Camper for the R1T -- what can I safely and reasonably tow?

I'd recommend renting a trailer or two from sites like outdoorsy or similar in your area. I have towed a few times with the Rivian and it's a dream until you have to find a charger that fits a trailer. I could make longer trips work, but the F350 Diesel is paid for and looks good sitting in the...
  3. Compiled payload ratings for R1T (GVWR, GAWR, Payload Stickers)

I ran through the CAT scales with my 25ft front bedroom airstream. The trailer had partial tanks filled, the truck bed was empty. Looks like I have about 300 lbs to spare. I have the 20" tires and a spare in the bed with the power tonneau. I should have dropped the trailer and gone through...
  4. How do you get in your R1? (PaaK, FOB, Card, crowbar, windows...)

The only time I had an issue with PAAK is when I was chatting it up and left my phone in the sun and it shut off due to the heat. Fortunately I carry the key card in my wallet for backup, otherwise would have had to wait for my phone to cool down.
  5. Tow Test - Rivian R1T & nuCamp TAB 320 S Boondock Teardrop Trailer

We have a 25FB and tows great. I don't think you will have any trouble getting 120 miles. We were getting around 1.1 mile/kwh on the two local trips we made. It's getting better but finding places to charge without having to unhitch is going to be the challenge.
  6. Caught red handed by Rivian Gear Guard - attempt to open my door and steal my bed racks

Yea, a valet set off my alarm when getting my R1T and I got a notification on my phone the alarm was set off. But there was nothing more I could do. I wish it would send a photo or something like my Nest camera does.
  7. Lending R1T to family member question

We will actually be meeting him there with the big truck and trailer (if we can get over the pass) and already have tickets for the aquarium. But we will check out pig wizard, thanks for the tip!
  8. Lending R1T to family member question

Eh, that ship has sailed. We're waiting for the kids to have kids at this point ;)
  9. Lending R1T to family member question

Thank you, this is great information. I appreciate it.
  10. Lending R1T to family member question

My adult son (28 years old) wants to borrow my R1T for a long drive from Reno, NV to Monterey Bay, CA. He has only driven the truck around town for a few minutes and doesn't have any other experience with an EV. I'm not concerned with him being safe and responsible and I would not hesitate to...
  11. Is Voice to Text Messaging without CarPlay/AA Even Possible?

I use Google assistant all the time to read, reply and send text or do other actions like changing music/podcasts.
  12. App 1.9.0 released

I noticed this too, but just found the charge history, it has been moved. Go to your profile then "Manage Account" and "Charging History" is the fifth option down for me.
  13. Service Airbag message -- "Airbag System Needs Service. Drive With Caution Until Serviced""

I love the "Drive with caution until serviced" line. Like I drive without caution knowing my airbag is there to save me otherwise.
  14. Poll: How often do you use the Camp Speaker?

I use the camp speaker while having a drink after mountain biking or skiing while we sit around and talk about our awesome day. I use the flashlight for those evening rides to make sure I grabbed all my gear and no one left gloves on the truck and everything is strapped down.
  15. Android App and phone battery usage

33% is a lot. I just checked and battery use is 2% for the past 12 hours. I have it set to "Optimized" and I have the BLE notification turned off. Not sure if that makes a difference. Like Arrohoo, I turn it off if I won't be driving for a while.
  16. Truckee CA Rivian Charging Station Now Open

There is a huge need for a fast charger in mammoth. My daughter races at Mammoth too but I chose to take my big truck down because we took the trailer. I would have taken the Rivian if there was a fast charger. Do you drive the black Rivian? I've seen one at a few of the North Nevada NICA races.
  17. Efficiency bay area -> South Lake Tahoe?

Last weekend drove to SF for the weekend from Reno. Going off memory, we left SF with about 50% charge, stopped in Vacaville for lunch and charged to about 80%. We stopped in Truckee with 25% and charged for a few to give us a buffer to make it the rest of the way to South Reno.
  18. R1T trip report - SF bay area to Boise roundtrip with a payload (1300 miles) - Long w/ data!

Thanks, this is good info. I live in Reno and have family in Boise so we make frequent trips. But have not tried it in the rivian yet, one of these days when I get the nerve. Without the extra payload and wind resistance, you would have a lot more buffer. But they do need a fast charger in...
  19. Sandy Munro Tearing Down Rivian R1T Battery Pack

I use it more recently since our mountain bike rides end after dark. I grab the light and do a quick check to make sure everything got in the truck before rolling out. Very useful.
  20. Trip Report - towing 6000 lbs 25' Airstream trailer from NV over Donner Pass to Grass Valley, CA

Yes, this is the one we used. I wish there were more but this was sufficient.
