99% sure this will be an issue (for this use case) as I have a screen (not this one, but same concept) and anytime my phone is connected, I cannot use wifi without disconnecting from CarPlay, so I think it is going to be an either/or situation.
One thing - if you planned on using the phone as a hotspot to connect your Rivian rather than connect plus (say you want to use Apple Music on the Rivian, but maps on the CarPlay screen), that wouldn’t work (correct?) because you can only have 1 WIFI connection.
Yea, not questioning the statement that you can’t do a supercharger only road trip everywhere. More curious if there were really states with none (I would assume in those states, EV owners would know they need to plan trips - I am betting those states aren’t packed with chargers generally).
Both and neither. Does that help? It is hard to figure out what is shared and what isn’t. The polestar 2 was a Volvo concept car (as was the 1). And they share a platform but then it gets murky.
I cancelled my reservation. As an XC90 plug in hybrid owner, I was hoping this could replace it, but it isn’t ready and is overpriced to boot. It really is sad. There was a lot of excitement over it and they totally botched it from start to finish (which is odd given Polestar overlaps and seems...
Sorry to re-up a thread, but anyone with recommendations in Boston-ish area for installers? I've come up empty every time I've checked. I've e-mailed a few and they've declined.
Ha, true and I feel terrible about myself for doing so! I will contribute briefly - I saw a CT finally. I find them stupid/ugly/whatever, but will admit two things. First, it wasn’t as insanely ugly as I expected and second, I don’t mind a company trying something different as much as I would...
This is the worst thread of all time from all participants. The only thing worse than the childish debate about the cybertruck is the chest pounding about the stock portfolios. Yay, some of you own some stock. I wonder if Rivian owners are by and large well off. No one cares. If you have to brag...
Owned a tesla and never waited one minute for a supercharger. Of course there are some that will be full but the great news is unlike EA where the app is absolute garbage, the Tesla app will tell you that so you can go elsewhere. AND when it is busy, Tesla aggressively charges you once you hit...
Strong likelihood everyone will need an adapter but I would much rather have a NACS plug (Tesla chargers are better as a general/overall statement and I am not sure how that can be disputed) and a CCS adapter for the rare time you can’t use a NACS (Tesla or otherwise) charger.
Today rather than...
I just paid $.53 at a Tesla supercharger on the Cape. Very easy to find; very easy to charge; no wait no fuss. Worth every penny. Thrilled to have the option. Hope market forces push the cost down but until then I will still seek out Tesla chargers.
I checked my purchase agreement. As noted, there are clear instructions as to where to send payment (I am not in CA or IL) on page 2. We all make mistakes. I certainly have failed to read before and gotten myself into a mess.
I am puzzled by the reticence to use bank transfers, but to each...
I have the same screen . . . It is fine - certainly does the job. I mounted below the main screen. I prefer this aesthetically (viewing angle is slightly worse particular If you have giant cups in the cup holder). It cost me $70 (And some Velcro strips plus some repurposed crap around the house...
