Actually... Iit can reassign it to you... your order has changed and is now an LE config. if you go look at your config (after being unlinked) it will now match the config of the R1 you picked from the shop, not your original order config (it does not change back). So you need to ask your...
I have been through this loop many times. The normal process is:
Guide unlinks you from your VIN (takes 24 hours)... BUT there is an important step... make sure you have your guide adjust your config slightly so that it does not match the VIN you are decoupling from. What can happen (happened...
Rivians map data isn't from Rivian's software team... it is just whatever their data source is.
You seem to get it and my guess is that your background is similar to mine. I've been in the trenches on this sort of thing (usually on the side making the rules that everyone needs to follow if they...
Is that a 22LSV or a 23LSV? I have a 23LSV and towed it around with my R1S (identical to yours except dark 22's) and it was fantastic. A little bit of side to side wiggle over speed bumps, but other than that, it felt pretty solid. My normal tow rig is a 21' Duramax Escalade which is great...
"Really all I want is Apple Music as a native app, just like Spotify. My Tesla has that without CP."
This is kind of my point. RJ knows his maps suck and he would love to light up Apple music. Everyone seems to think he doesnt know this and he is forcing a sucky experience on Rivian owners. He...
Correct. Apple and Google do not require a payment or license fee. I never said they make $ from GM or Honda. They are super smart... but they can require manufactures to meet requirements to allow the software to be licensed. Same thing they do with Andoid lighting cables, etc.
I really wish people would understand what is REALLY going on here. This is not Rivian simply deciding they do not want their cars and customers to have CP/AA. Google and Apple are not playing around... the requirements they would put in front of Rivian to license CP/AA would be significantly...
The fact that they were able to reproduce it speaks volumes. I am sure it was a bit of an "oh crap" moment when they did have it activate the same way you and I did and they realized it is possible for this to happen.
I only had it happen once (about two weeks ago), and it was quick scary...
I believe the scenario might be... you are using CC... you pull off the highway and start parking. Pulling down reactivates CC. w
i will use all lowercase to counter your uppercase. i did not mean that cc didn't work below 5mph... as you said, you need it to work in stop and go traffic. but...
I had my R1S do exactly what happened to the OP. I was parking, and when I pushed down to put it in D (it was already in D), the vehicle started to accelerate. Maybe a software flaw... but it happened.
You activated cruise control... so the car was accelerating to the set speed. Pulling down on the "shifter stock" while in "D" activates cruise control.
Do it a second time and you activate Driver+. Rivian needs to lock out CC activation below 5 MPH.
I now have two dents right along the upper crease on my doors. It's not from another car door... it is simply from my kids pushing on the panel to close the door. Rivian clearly used extremely thin shell panels. Never had a car dent like this before from an 11 yo pushing on the door. I am going...
That's why I like what Audi did on the etron... a part on each side. Makes it super easy. My boat is the same way... filler on both sides, because sometimes you done get the luxury of choosing how you approach the charger (or the gas dock).
I have owned a stupid number of cars... many higher end performance cars and SUVS. I love our Rivian... but it is not doubt a "beta" product. The quality of manufacturing feels "cheap". The doors feel cheap when you close them and they rattle. In fact... most things rattle. It's the most...
Sure... but I have never heard of a car with in-cabin batteries needing a sensor and warning. My v10TDI Toureg has two huge 12v sealed batteries in the cabin... no sensor (nor did I ever hear of anyone having an issue)
I agree.... it would sure be nice to know. I can see the need for them for the main batteries, but not the 12v (even if it wasn't sealed). A sensor for 12v is something I have ever seen before, and I have had a lot of cars with batteries in the cabin, under the drivers seat, etc.
