I think the efficiency is pretty decent considering it's a 'normal' suv. My guess is the f150 lightening will be somewhat worse (bigger) and the hummer will be way worse (much bigger and less aerodynamic).
At the moment there really isn't anything else I'm considering since there isn't anything...
I like the usefulness of something like the ecoflow since solar can get plugged directly into it and it could be used more regularly for camping in addition to an emergency backup. Also there are extra battery modules that can be added for extra capacity. Have you seen the video about ecoflow on...
Those two things keep me leaning back to waiting for a max pack, since both those are use cases that I want the Rivian for. I also want to be able to tow the trailer to a remote camp site and then go exploring some back roads, looks like I should add a large solar array, battery bank and...
It's hard to imagine how terrifying it would be hanging off the bridge like that, and how they managed to do that!
My ARB snatch strap and regular tow strap fit in a 2" hitch receiver and a hitch pin can be used to hold it in place if you don't have tow hooks or shackle mounts. Here's a...
Let me know if you need some suggestions for mountain or desert trails to explore, and I would love to take a peek at the truck if you pass through Grand Junction!
Regarding the max pack, another influencing factor could be the future implementation of V2H or using the vehicle as a backup power...
I'm in the process of adding a subpanel to power mini-splits and a heat pump hot water heater, and I've been debating if I should just add another circuit to the garage for charging. I have a 14-50 plug already for welding and our i3 but it would be nice to be able to take advantage of the...
Is there a rear spoiler on the R1S? My guess is a top wiper would disrupt the air flow coming down to fill the vacuum behind the vehicle and reduce efficiency. I know our van has a top wiper and after using it the dirty water that it brushed to the top runs down all over the window again. It's...
I was just thinking of a different option for a hold-over vehicle that is similar to a Subaru forester. The rav4 prime gets better mpg and if you can plug in at night then you can at least drive the first 40ish miles on electricity.
I think it may be a bit more difficult to maintain a steady speed off-road in an ev. With an engine running it is always trying to pull the vehicle forward, obviously much more so with a manual transmission but still to some degree with an automatic so the vehicle will more likely keep moving...
Are those the 21" wheels? I don't worry about rock rash on my wheels too much, I just don't like sidewall cuts. I assume by mesa they mean the grand mesa national forest, even though there is a town called Mesa on the way up there.
