The R1 vehicles have very big batteries, which when using a standard 120v, 15amp outlet (aka 'Level 1') will take a long time to charge.
It's best to stop thinking in "miles", as it's not a unit of capacity. Gas tanks aren't measured in miles, they are measured in gallons. The unit of capacity...
At least those aren't the text messages that I get for a completely different person (my name is, in fact, not Katherine), trying to let me know that I can have a $59/month car payment.
On the Reddit post from yesterday the user proceeded to explain how it happened. The main points were that Rivian called him to see if he was able to speed thru the process & commit to picking up yesterday.
Borealis shows as available starting in September on the design page now (and from other reports). Never hurts to keep an eye on the design page to see if changes come in...
I don't have a link, but there was a post on r/Rivian showing an R2 in a persons garage. Not an influencer that I'm aware of, but they got a call earlier from Rivian asking if they were ready to purchase and take delivery.
To note, this only applies to Gen2 R1's and one would guess R2. Gen 1 R1's controls for Driver+/Highway Assist/ACC have not changed.
If I was, it would make the last will and testament I signed yesterday pretty useless.
I thought that something like this was reported when the deal with Uber was announced, as that I'm sure added some costs in for Rivian (developing a robotaxi version of R2 isn't gonna be free I'm sure....).
Gen1 R1's still have a follow-distance that is directly set-able. Granted, I don't know what the measurements are in actual units, but there are specific indicators that get put on the display when you activate ACC.
I believe the "sold as new" thing was for vehicles bought thru a specific Demo vehicle sales site Rivian set up, which no longer has any vehicles on it. In those cases, the vehicles were only used as loaners or demo drive vehicles, so they never had a titled/registered owner. So therefore the...
My wife and I are planning on a National Parks road trip for next year, and even though it's only a state away, I've never been to Crater Lake in my entire life. It's on the list for sure!
It's the biggest thing that I miss from my Model Y when towing. That being said, it's not a deal breaker for me, as overall I prefer being safe when towing and therefore being in control is more important overall.
Model 3 & Y still have a fully manual frunk - it doesn't even fully open pneumatically (like R2 does). The owner's manual for both vehicles refers to lifting it open after pressing the "open" button on the inside screen, key fob or app - yep, it has no way to open it from outside unless you use...
Before you sell it, have you checked this out?

California law supercedes dumb HOA rules in most cases...
To be clear, it's not truly power open - the latch mechanism is powered, but the actual opening action is from air cylinders on the struts, like most standard hoods in other vehicles.
Looking at the main spec sheet at the bottom of rivian.com/r2 , the 84.7" measurement includes the mirrors unfolded. It's 78.1" with the mirrors folded.
