I was hopeful that this OTA update was going to fix the issue where the truck constantly switches the profile to my wife, but sadly it did not. Any time I open the door for my wife, when I walk to the driver seat it's moving the seat into her position and I can't get in since we have a...
I’ve got ubiquiti WAP’s and have no issues with Wi-Fi connectivity to the truck. The access point is probably 50ft away and goes through two walls.
I have a small tool bag that contains random items that I may need, like tie down straps, hitch and pin lock, jumper cables (kept in there from my ICE vehicle), and some basic screwdriver set. I also have a Ryobi 18v impact drill with an 18v battery that I keep in the gear tunnel with the bag...
Chicken and egg. People would complain that the OTA enables remote window control but Rivian hasn't pushed the update via mobile.
And you don't push both at the same time because if there's an issue, was it the app update or OTA update that caused it?
It's stored on the truck by default for 7 days. If you want it on the USB Drive, you have to manually select "copy to USB" in the gear guard.
That might change in the future when we get things like the dashcam mode, but that's how it is as of now.
I basically act like my truck doesn't have the tonneau cover, which SC has advised me is probably a good idea until the redesign comes out. I've used it maybe 5-6 times since owning it, and it's gotten stuck 2 of those times and required me to finagle it to get it actually retract, as it kept...
Also, side note, CCS can support V2H and Rivian has stated they're going to support it. We're just now waiting on the CCS chargers to arrive on the market, AFAIK none of them have actually started shipping yet...
I've owned a few Silverado's and they've all had the shifter on the column, and it went "PRNDL" as well and I would just pull it all the way down and it'd stop in Drive. I had to intentionally put it in either L or R, so for me and what i'm used to the Rivian makes perfect sense.
Yup, I get the exact same questions. It's "what is it", "Who makes it", "how long can you go on a charge", and "how long do the batteries last".
I try to just answer them all in one go. "It's called a Rivian, it's a new american company in Illinois. It's electric and goes about 315 miles on a...
I won't beat the dead horse that is CarPlay/AA debate, so i'll leave that be. I'll just say that in 2022, I do have a certain expectation for me to be able to use my phone via the vehicle infotainment for convenience and safety reasons. If I can't do basic things like have my text messages read...
Looking at random online calculators like https://www.speedmaster79.com/tools/14et-mph trapping at 113 vs 110 knocks off .3 time, so it could mean a decent amount if does actually trap at 113-114. Will be curious to see if someone takes it back to the track after they get the update.
I’m assuming peoples quarter mile times will be a bit faster too since in theory they should have a bit higher trap speed since the speedometer is closer to the actual speed than previously. Not sure how much of a difference it’ll make
Theres a reason that the term “Rivian lottery” even exists, but when someone who has a YouTube channel (Minus Kyle, that’s an exception) gets their Rivian tons of people complain that it’s because they’re a youtber or influencer. With the shit show that it’s been how Rivian has selected who gets...
I’d argue he didn’t skip, he probably won the rivian lottery like I did. I preordered in November 2021 and already have my truck with others who have preordered in 2018 still not having theirs. I didn’t skip, Rivian called my number. If they wanted the exposure he would have gotten his months ago
It did, sort of:
"Displays now can't be accessed if gear guard alarm is triggered". Doesn't help in the use case of having gear guard disabled at home and the truck being parked in the driveway though.
