Be thankful you don't live in Bend, OR. We, arguably, have the highest concentration of Rivian's in the country. We are about 3.5 hours from the nearest service center (assuming there's not much snow on the roads in wintertime or roads are closed due to forest fires in the summer.)
Anyhow...
I was scheduled for a comprehensive inspection and mentioned in the ticket that I was eligible for the PTC upgrade from the original version. My upgrade was for the first iteration of upgrade and not the current version.
The problem with asking for this type of information on a forum is that it's all anecdotal. Just keep in mind that people tend to post about their negative experiences and not about the positive ones.
I have a 2022 R1T and haven't had any of those issues. Still have original 12V battery, tonneau cover never had an issue but Rivian upgraded it at no charge. I do have some weirdness going on with my compass heading not updating properly when switching between Wi-Fi and LTE.
Nope. I've waited up to 5 minutes before shifting into park.
No electrical work has been done on the house since I purchased the truck in 2022.
Haven't checked, but doubt that's the issue. Anomaly only started after the 2025.18.01 update.
Not a navigation issue. Do you see a map on that screen? You don't expect your compass to update when switching between wi-fi and LTE? I'm admittedly a bit anal-retentive about lining up my truck in the garage.
If I were really concerned about it - which I am not - I think I would just keep a pair of clean, dry shoes in the truck. Otherwise, knock your feet together before moving your legs and feet into the vehicle.
Obviously, you can't while driving. Just pointing out that you're not getting a lot of benefit from reducing heat transfer through the roof when most of it is through the windshield. Otherwise, I guess we'll have to wait for fully-autonomous driving 🙂
I guess every little bit helps but my own simple measurement - hand near windshield vs hand near roof glass - says that you're going to get a lot more benefit from keeping heat heat from being lost/gained from insulating the windshield rather than the roof.
My R1T (Gen 1) is at the body shop to repair some damage. I creased the lower portion of passenger-side door.
Anyway, the truck has been at the shop for 10 days or so and is in "Service Mode", so I can't see anything but the location and the tire pressure. My question is - What is the drain on...
