As the Goodyear Engineer that helped design this tire, I can confirm the Goodyear tire is 3PMSF. Snow performance was one of the top priorities for the design of this tire.
The recommended inflation pressure is on the drivers door jamb sticker. I corrected my earlier post to read 48 psi when the tires are cold. Once they warm up, the inflation gets a little higher. I believe Rivian recommends 48 psi cold tire inflation pressure for all the different wheel and tire...
Nice report, thanks for sharing! You might get even better efficiency if the tires are inflated to 48psi when cold (recommended inflation for the Goodyear tire).
The previous post addressed mandated lowering of tire pressures to protect the fragile sandy environment, beaches, and dunes where off-roading is permitted.
The images shown above could be examples of oversized tires on dedicated off-road vehicles that are trailered to and from events. Other...
Hi all, here is some additional info from a Goodyear expert…
Some publicly managed areas where off-roading is permitted require that tires be partially deflated when driving on Sand. Many actually specify between 15-20 PSI, and maximum speeds from 10-15 MPH.
Running at this reduced inflation...
The Rivian tire is engineered to be a durable choice for both on-road and off-road driving. Goodyear officially advises maintaining the recommended 48 psi tire pressure. This pressure helps optimize efficiency, load-carrying ability, treadwear, handling, and more for normal, daily driving. I am...
Yep, the new Goodyear Territory AT would be a perfect fit for these wheels!

Hi all, I’m one of the tire designers at Goodyear who worked with the Rivian design team to develop the new Wrangler Territory AT for the R1 Gen 2. I was a bit surprised that Rivian described it as an AS option, but in reality, it performs excellently as an All-Season tire and also excels in...
Yes, setting the cruise to 85mph would be ~82mph actual speed. Hopefully Rivian comes up with a solution for an accurate speedo (and raises the cruise control max speed).
Good question. Rivian specified the 116 load index as part of the design process. Keep in mind the load index is a rating per tire, not total vehicle load. The proper load carrying capability helps with safety and vehicle performance when the vehicle is at or near fully loaded. The 115 can carry...
Thanks! As a designer of this Goodyear tire, I agree! I may be biased, but I think this tire hits the sweet spot between All-Terrain and All-Season performance for the R1. Here is a thread with more info...
I have a small sample size, but my efficiency rating was approximately 2.24 mkh over 270 miles with the stock Pirelli tires before switching to the Goodyear. Over the last 3518 miles with the Goodyear tires, my efficiency is 2.52 mkh (around 2.45 mkh with a 3% adjustment for the OD difference)...
For the time being, Goodyear is not planning on this specific 275/60R20 Territory AT to be redesigned for the 275/65R20 size. However, we are working to develop more replacement tire options for EVs.
I would very much be in favor of Rivian letting us change the tire size in the infotainment...
Goodyear does have other options that are 275/65R20, but I would recommend the Rivian specific 275/60R20 Territory AT for optimal performance on the R1. Hopefully America's Tire eventually carries these if they do not already.
I went from the stock 34" 275/65R20 to the 33" Goodyear 275/60R20...
