Thanks again for another fantastic report! I’ve heard that quad motor conserve mode was a tire eater at one point. I’m not sure if Rivian has adjusted the software to be more friendly to the tires.

I have a 7500 mile service appointment next month. I am hoping they will update the software then. I believe the Rivian team is working towards a way for customers to change the tire size. Hopefully, that will be an option in the future.

Hi, if you’re coming from the 21” wheels (or 22” for that matter) the 275/60R20 has the same 33” OD and the software is good to go. It’s only the 275/65R20 that has a different (34”) diameter.

The Goodyear Rivian tire does not have foam. The tire uses other design techniques to improve noise performance without the use of foam.

Hi, I would suggest keeping the tires at the recommended cold inflation of 48 psi.

As long as the inflation is staying consistent, altitude changes should not specifically affect tire performance.

I would reach out to the store where the tire was installed. Hopefully they can isolate the issue and have a solution for improvement.

Interesting, thanks for sharing. 45 psi sounds like the sweet spot for you and your use case. Overall tire and vehicle performance was optimized for 48 psi. Certain performances and operating conditions may have a different tire pressure sweet spot (with potential tradeoffs).

The recommended cold tire pressure is 48 psi. @good2go, you mention 45 psi works best for you. Are there particular performance characteristics that you feel are best at 45?
