  1. Tesla's Dangerous Doors (electronic door latches) - Can Rivian please not follow this trend?

Aren't most standard door locks overridden when the level inside is pulled more than once? The only exception I can think of is when the child safety locks are enabled
  2. Tesla's Dangerous Doors (electronic door latches) - Can Rivian please not follow this trend?

I am glad the OP posted this and it is being discussed, I hope that Rivian has considered this issues. I am really worried about there being an incident when R2 comes out and the next thing you know Rivian is known for the vehicles that trap people. All of the EMS, breaking windows, etc talk...
  3. So at what mileage did everyone ditch these 20" inch Pirellis?

I haven't really tracked the range change myself. Definitely not worse and I have a sense that it is a little better. Addressing some other discussion here on performance, there have been quite a few reviews available on youtube that show the Michelin Defenders exceed the performance of even...
  4. So at what mileage did everyone ditch these 20" inch Pirellis?

Everyone looking at the Michelin Defenders LTX/MS2 make sure your paying attention to the load rating. They came out with the "new" ones last winter with the load rating of 116. Otherwise the 115 were technically not high enough and you wound up with the "truck" ones that had a much higher load...
  5. So at what mileage did everyone ditch these 20" inch Pirellis?

Yea, I have had these defenders on a stock 2017 Ford Explorer on the outer banks beach access aired down with no problem and that vehicle is nothing compared to the R1S. I setup the tires in the system as aftermarket all season 20 inch and everything has been accurate.
  6. So at what mileage did everyone ditch these 20" inch Pirellis?

They are glorious. The ONLY thing I can say against them is that they don't look as "cool" as any AT tires, but they don't look bad, especially when clean and dressed (I think if the sidewall was a little shorter they would look cooler, but just my preference). They are SILENT and smooth. They...

    DMV Rivian Owners

Interesting, I hadn't heard of it. We will see if they pull it off, considering all the mentioned technologies are in direct contradiction of the administration, which currently controls the city...
  8. So at what mileage did everyone ditch these 20" inch Pirellis?

18k here and got Michelin Defenders (now coming up on first rotation at 7500 miles). The whole family was complaining, and it was embarrassing to give someone a ride in the car and gush about how great it was, but have it sound like a dump truck going down the highway. In fairness to Rivian...
  9. Screw from door popped out

I used a panel tool that came with a dashcam. It is just a stiff plastic pry at and you can use something plastic you have or get one at an auto store. One way to check before you try to get it is to open the door and tap forcefully the bottom of the plastic door panel in places. If you do it...
  10. Screw from door popped out

A small rolling marble sound in the drivers door when accelerating and decelerating was getting to me so I took a panel tool and popped the bottom of the drivers door panel just a little and our dropped this screw. Glad the noise is gone. I guess I'll save it and mention it to the service...
  11. R2 update per Q2 2025 earnings report

We love our R1S LE and I technically reserved my R2 before it rolled out on stage as soon as the website opened. I am hoping for a factory pickup this time. That said, as much coin as I am willing to muster toward it, it will be a second vehicle (actually 4th when you consider some older...
  12. Someone scratched my parked car with a knife

My wife was there with our kids for a couple of hours and I do have the video of her coming back without the kids so I'm thinking she was dropping them off either for a party which is ok or just dumping them at the pool which is against the rules. She basically comes back without the kids and...
  13. Someone scratched my parked car with a knife

had my own incident although not as deliberate, still pretty deliberate (I'm in Northern VA so just goes to show it isn't one area). I walked out in the driveway yesterday and the light was right that I noticed a big dent in the left rear quarter. My wife had taken my boys to a nearby community...
  14. R1S 20 inch replacement: Michelin Defender LTX M/S 2 vs vs Goodyear Wrangler Territory At

Kind of weird about the installer saying that with Michelins. Maybe a bad batch? Maybe the installer doesn't know what he is doing? Michelin here about 6 months in and love them. I think the answer is above about how harsh of offroading your doing. If you are doing ski trips in snow, logging...
  15. Hauling stuff on top of the glass roof advice.

Yup, I like this idea. The roof boxes, racks, and bike racks are all over the place on facebook marketplace etc. It is like sports equipment where it gets used, but often upgraded or no longer needed quick for big savings. One thing to note, the three bars are not even to each other so if you...
  16. Home charging units

Yup, I LOVE my Autel charger. I have the 48A with the remote holster and installed it 6 months before I got my rivian (direct wire) and it has been FLAWLESS. The app is really well done. The unit has lots of features I don't use (at least yet) like the weatherproofing, electronic locking and...
  17. 20" Inch 20" Michelin Defender LTX M/S2

I have the 65 and am using the aftermarket all season setting. I wouldn't use any of the specific tire settings unless you have the tire. Someone else mentioned they used a tire setting for a tire they didn't have because it had the same or similar specs and the range and other things were way...
  18. Parallel Parking Assist - When?

I had a couple of Ford Explorers that did this. I remember using it once with a car full of people on a group date night in the city not long after getting the car, we were all very impressed. Never used it again. I remember seeing this article last year about it being phased out from many...
  19. Rivians spotted in new Long Way Home series

In the latest episode the guys stumble on a drag strip in Sweden and the two R1Ts sign on for a run. They didn't post the times, but went like rockets of course all loaded with gear
  20. Rivians spotted in new Long Way Home series

Not sure if anyone has been watching, but I started the new series the other day and absolutely love it (I love the travel aspect of it). Anyway, the Rivian's get some love every so often, but just watched Episode 4 where they find a big station wagon that spun off one of the high altitude roads...
