This is how 1000's of vehicles are transported in the US every day. No, this setup does not mean the ones on the bottom get scratched. if it happened to yours.. then the operator loading them didn't do it right. Bummer that yours was damaged. The ones on the top can get damaged just as...
I'd call this a missed opportunity... not "Horrible customer service". If that is your definition of "horrible"... then you live a good life. Rivian called you and you didn't answer. available inventory changes by the minute (ask anyone with shop access). If you had answered the phone when...
The one thing that would be really nice to know is the factory torque settings on the bolts. I made them "snug" for now, but i'd prefer to have them at spec.

I think that is just it... clearly the factory isn't even trying to align things and they are just leaving it to the SCs... who really don't have the time.
Thank you! This worked! So easy, loosen the bolts, lift the lift gate (you are really just lifting it enough to slide the lift gate back on the bolts (which moves its position higher)... tighten bolts and done. 2 mins max. Now things are perfectly aligned in all directions.
My new R1S was delivered with a tailgate/liftgate that didn't align well when closed (seemed like it simply wasn't closed all the way). I decided to just try to fix it myself... and surprisingly it was super simple.
The main latch has a decent amount of adjustment in it, so I loosened the...
Your delivery experience will be good. It is service (and really just scheduling because they are overwhelmed).
And as someone else mentioned.. they were very proactive at making Shop access requests happen.
Or simply a design characteristic. Jeep Wranglers are no different... except the glass is smaller so less likely to get hit. The Rivian windshield is huge and at an aggressive angle. My guess is that the aerodynamic design of the front of the vehicle cause rocks to hit the windshield vs. flow...
Took delivery on Friday of our newly manufactured R1S VIN1306x. Figured I would provide an overview of the latest quality for builds rolling of the factory floor these days. Overall things don't look terrible, but a few items need to get fixed:
The good:
Hood alignment: Looks good, no issues...
Painful. They will likely do everything they can to get you delivered by end of month. The Bellevue SC is packed right now by they can turn things quick. Mine arrived Wed morning and they delivered it Friday morning. Good luck... and hopefully only a few more days and the saga is over and you...
Yesterday I attempted to move my R1S a foot forward in the garage with the tailgate open... set off all kinds of alarms (beeping and a visual alert on the screen noting to close the tailgate before moving). It then shifted automatically into park and I could not move without closing the rear...
Here is what I have done for the last 10 years (and too many cars to count). Run the factory 22" (or sport option) in the summer. Purchase a set of OEM smaller wheels (20") and mount up a set of Nokian Hakka R3s/R10s or whatever they have in the size you need. Works perfect.
Just took...
