I'm 21mo in and there is noticeable "dirt" on our Ocean Coast interior. Noticeable areas on the arm rests from sunscreened arms (we boat a lot in the summer). Drivers seat is noticeably "blued" from wearing denim all the time (my go to pants material during the week). It clean relatively easy...
I can agree with most of this. All of my problems are not EV related, they're all Rivian related.
Drove my wifes 8yr old (almost 100k mile) Nissan Rogue into work the other day. It had a better ride, didn't sound like a broken hay wagon, the sunroof opened, and I had zero issues with the key...
I've used several of the chargers along I-90 in New York. The "Applegreen" center chargers are quite nice and seem to work well. Wish they were included in the in-dash nav though.
This sums up my experience with Rivian in two sentences. You have to WANT to own one of these, it doesn't make itself easy to own.
100% agree. I might buy another, but it's not because I think it's a stellar product, it's because I lack compelling alternatives. Tough place for a brand to be...
Wonder what the split is on R1T vs R1S usage. I'm in the gear tunnel and front trunk almost daily. I also have an R1T and no bed cover, so it's my only "dry storage". If I had an R1S (much like my old Q7or Yukon) I doubt I would use the front trunk much at all.
Been to service multiple times. Each time it comes back "functioning normally". They say the same thing about the suspension that sounds like a broken hay wagon as well. Nothing better than a poor experience explained as "normal"......guess it's just a crap experience then? Not sure service...
This is essentially what I default to. I'm an idiot and glutton for punishment so I "try again" after every update, or whenever I think I might have found a tip/trick/setting that could change the situation.
Even so far as I remove the nearby devices permissions from the app when I go to the...
No idea if it uses the wallet app. I don't see my Rivian key in there, and I use the app often.
I'm a glutten for punishment and am equally a fan of the scientific method. I'll give it a shot.
Fun fact, it locked me out last night at the soccer game. App wouldn't respond, PaaK didn't work...
Well, spoke too soon. System is still crap. Works sometimes, doesn't other times. Can't find a good pattern to it. Restart of the phone fixes it for awhile, but rarely longer than a day at a time.
I'm giving up again and going back to carrying the fob.
Only 14mo left.
Not 100% sure, but I'm not a big believer in coincidences either. Seems really odd that my radio quick working at the same time the rest of the truck lost cell connection, then came back when cell service was restored.
FYI, R1 works this way too.
I had lost cell connection in the truck last week (towers down near the house), and FM "radio" quit working at the same time. Towers came back, radio came back. Wifes car continued to work just fine.
Now, I'll agree with part of that.
People are super easy to deal with, times are available, and I don't think it's spent more than 7 calendar days in the shop at any one time. It is there every 45 days on average though, which is getting old at 21mo and 14 visits.
Parts have been fast for me...
I'll add AZ to the list of regions that has crap service experience. Niagara Falls, Rochester and Cleveland have all treated me well, been easy to schedule, proactive, and generally good experiences.
Mine is in service every 45 days on average. The service experience has been largely great overall. I've never had another vehicle have as many problems, or been as easy to deal with getting them resolved. As best I can tell from anecdotal responses I read online, service center quality and...
I'm 21mo into ownership and have used the rainx "orange" style washer fluid the entire time. I've not seen any adverse effects to paint, trim, or adhesives.
Yes, in general I've found mine to have poor quality components and poor workmanship.
This is not news, it's been that way, quite literally, for years now.
I'm reviving this thread.......with some updates.
I was randomly doom scrolling through Instagram reels on Saturday afternoon. Came across one for "Android Bluetooth Optimization" or something about that. The poster had a method for improving Bluetooth stability. Essentially Android treats the...
This, honestly, is the biggest issue with Rivian as a whole. A lack of consistency. Some have great delivery experiences, others terrible. Some have endless QC problems, others nothing. Some PaaK works, others never.
For me.....QC sucks, Build quality is poor, half the truck doesn't work...
Honestly, I found the "no dealership" game to be equally as frustrating during the buying process. Different, but not necessarily better. Communication was poor, timing was always "rush when they need something, but slow to respond when I need something" cadence. Lots of hidden/undisclosed costs...
