@Rade I'm in the same boat. Every time I try to use the truck as a tool, it's a passable but largely frustrating experience. It works, but you have to want it to, it doesn't just naturally work well.
Combined with the revolving door that my service center has been, I won't buy another Rivian...
@twraps have another update for you.
I cleaned up and re-installed my dead pedal last week in preparation for a 1,200mi road trip over Memorial Day Weekend. I still contend this is one of the best comfort mods I've ever done to a vehicle.
Here's an image of the piece after surviving a Buffalo...
I shut down a family member on this topic this weekend.
Just had to ask this line of questioning.
Me: "Sure, digging a limited resource out of the ground to use in a car takes a lot of energy, manpower, and time. Out of curiosity, how recyclable is oil?"
Them: "Well, it's not"
Me: "How...
@byronandalex You have running boards on the truck?
Mine detects the running boards all the time. Take the boards off and the "fantom alerts" go away. I've just added it to the list of "dumb shit my over complicated truck does" and move on with life.
Rattles like a broken covered wagon from the 1800's, more than half the time the PaaK won't let me drive it, and the HVAC vents are the most infuriating ongoing interaction with a machine I think I've ever experienced...........but at least it looks nice when it's cleaned up.
37k miles into my 45k mile lease with 16 months to go. Have multiple 1.2k-1.6k mile road trips planned before turn in already. I won't buy the Rivian out because it's a giant POS that I'm more tolerating than enjoying. Soooo.......I'm doing two things to mitigate losses.
Bought a $1k motorcycle...
In general, the consensus is that there isn't really a bad setup to be had. There was an owner with a dual motor standard pack with 21in "range" wheels that went everywhere the owner with a quad motor/large pack and 20in AT's went. There was one owner on the November trip this year that had...
I disagree. It's a different workflow, but it's largely insignificant impacts to the day/trip.
Be curious if you feel the same after some time as an owner. I've talked to many EV owners, the only ones that I've heard of wanting to go back to ICE are those that tow on a very regular basis.
Have you run this scenario through ABRP?
I'll take 15-20min on the couch before making this kind of trip and run all my destinations through the planner. Make some conservative estimates and develop a plan of attack. I've not found it to be overburdening or overly time consuming.
We're in...
I add on......
The only thing I can't do in an EV that I could do in an ICE is the "bonzai run" type trip. I once made it from Louisville to St. Louis in just over 3hrs. Mother in law was rushed to hospital, wife said "I need you here now" with a tone I hadn't heard from her in 15yrs of...
I'm going to be very interested in your opinion after you've owned an EV for awhile.
I road trip in mine about once every 6wks or so. It's a complete non-issue.
It's not usable, or noticeable at 5mph on the trail.
Have a look at this album. I did everything there and MIGHT have gotten to 25% throttle. There is no appreciable difference when on the trail between any of the 4 powertrain options.
The extra power is available, you'll likely never be in a...
I'm leasing a non-performance dual motor R1T with the All Terrain package. 20in wheels, onboard compressor, full-size spare, front tow hooks, and underbody protection. I also do an offroading event a couple times a year in PA with the Rivian. This last event there was another owner that had a...
Curious what the benefit is over ElectraFi. I use it a lot, but the interface isn't great.
Tried to have a look at your link, but get stuck here.
Can't see anything without an account, can't get an account without an invite. Kind of hard to assess if I can help if I can't get any look at it...
I concur. Sounds like a leaky airspring or line in the front, and then an overworked compressor trying to keep up. Call service, setup an appointment. I would expect this to be a warrantable item.
