I wanted Red Canyon - and Forest Edge. But - after "locking" that configuration - Rivian decided to not make that combination. When I got access to the Store they only had Launch Green, Forest Green, and Black. <sigh> My wife strongly preferred FG so that's what we chose. I _love_ FE interior...
Agree all around. It's hard to rewind the clock in my head but recognize that I waited more than 4 years for my vehicle, "locked" my configuration without having ever seen an R1S, and took delivery without having ever driven one. And the first R1S's were indeed rushed and required additional...
Rivian maintaining the reservation pricing was one of the most impressive business decisions I have seen. I remember the outrage when in hit - RIvian Stories doing a session where they cancelled their pre-order - and I would have cancelled if they hadn't pivoted.
I wanted and locked on 20" lights because they were forged - and free for LE. When I got access to the store though I opted for 20" darks even though I had to pay an additional $3,500. Love, love, love these wheels - only change is that I will likely move to AS when the ATs wear out.
TIL iOS Shortcuts. I've had iPhones since the 3 but was not aware of iOS Shortcuts (or Widgets) until this thread. Normally I love this kind of stuff - I have probably blown a man year of my life creating macros and automations for various platforms over the past few decades.
This thread also...
Hmm...some of the mobile screen snaps are iOS, some must be Andriod - but I am not seeing ANY new or changed UI elements on my mobile (app 2.4.0, car 2023.38.). I have of course restarted the app. What am I missing here?
It's my first heated steering wheel and I like it. I haven't noticed this cycling - what I have noticed is that parts of the wheel get warm and other parts have to catch up and that takes a long time.
However, I mostly turn it on remotely - and I find the remote process via the app cumbersome...
We had that problem - grandkids in the second row really struggled. At a service appointment showed the technician and he said "door drop - I can fix that". Looking at the car side-on, open the door...if it moves at the trailing edge then it's probably that. He eliminated about 90% of the...
If they announced NFL and College themes - just those two - I think the stock would jump 5 points. :) Of course they'd HAVE to Alexa-enable that...could you imagine the...um, fun?...of having a family going down the road continuously overriding each others' theme?
I'm from Seattle - I suspect many folks would pay $100 (or more!) for Seahawks mode.
This is exactly the kind of feature that would be perfect for a subscription.
I was going to be letting go of my 2006 GX470 but...nah. First of all, the R1S does not have a spare so I'm not going on any significant trails. Then even the idea of a recovery winch evaporated. And then there's the challenge of charging with longer trail runs. So I'm not really seeing the R1S...
I had this happen last weekend at about 6k miles headed over a mountain pass with bikes on the back. Pulled over, called them, hard reset, and going again within 5 minutes. I too was a bit rattled and drove very cautiously for the next hour or so...then I forgot about it. Went over the pass...
I have found that very useful - my Rivian often has cell connectivity in semi-remote areas like mountain passes when my phone doesn't (both on AT&T). And the grandkids use it for their devices / games which don't have cellular plans.
We had this problem with our R1S delivered in March and I talked about it at our first service appointment (back when you could get those in a timely manner). The tech opened the door and said "door drop - we can fix that". Look at the door, open, and notice if the trailing edge moves down when...
I would like a tripmeter (though I can do the math from odometer) whenever I go to a trail at the end of a road. There's almost always a sign that says "Trailhead X miles" and I would like an update of that distance to go. For me these are in areas with no cell coverage - my Rivian apparently...
Well...as someone who last weekend did the loop from Mercer Island, to Leavenworth, to Mazama, and back through Newhalem...the charging in Cle Elum isn't too bad - there's a public EV station literally next to a Tesla setup with maybe 8 chargers (and next to a coffee shop with bathroom) so I...
I think it's because I feel they are doing a great job overall and I would like the see them prosper and offer additional products.
I will admit that if the sliders had been more available I would have gone that route but getting _something_ installed before my wife decided to hate the vehicle...
