  1. Keeping black plastic trim BLACK!?

Based on comments here I purchased the Cerakote wipes. I noticed the instructions say intended for use on faded trim... not to use on 'new' trim. Before I apply to my newish R1T, should I have any concerns? Thanks.
  2. Absolutely sick of Alexa's god-awful navigation

THIS! This drives me nuts! I ask for directions to Home Depot (or a Starbucks) a couple miles away. And Alexa seems to start (if in fact it understands the request at all) with locations 50 miles away. Then when I say ā€˜No, not that one’, proceeds to list location after location that is no where...
  3. For people who *don't* have exposed cargo racks, where do you store jump box?

Bumper Waterproof container for tools - fits inside bumper tube Jump box - fits in bumper tube next to tool container Fender liner frunk access tools and battery clamps for jump box fit in the tool container with plenty of room to spare. Will this jump box be enough to bring the Rivian 12V up...
  4. For people who *don't* have exposed cargo racks, where do you store jump box?

Same, exactly (superbumper.com), and awaiting arrival today of a jump box that should also fit within the bumper tube, which may allow jumping from the hitch receiver ā€˜jump’ leads behind the hitch-adjacent circular plastic cap without requiring emergency access to the frunk via the fender liner...
  5. Lost at least 1 rear motor (Update: Fixed, then rear ended on way home, 2nd update critical battery issue)

OK, cool. I’m going to assume your math is correct and use that formula to find me a jump box that will work for my R1T. Appreciate the help!
  6. Lost at least 1 rear motor (Update: Fixed, then rear ended on way home, 2nd update critical battery issue)

Ok, thanks! Wow… I expected a tow truck operator to be rocking a MUCH larger jump box. That one is reasonable size I might be willing to carry on the vehicle.
  7. Lost at least 1 rear motor (Update: Fixed, then rear ended on way home, 2nd update critical battery issue)

Yeah, aware of that… but for how long? And is the typical (small, VERY portable) rechargeable jump box (which may claim ā€œcan provide 60 starts before rechargingā€) able to provide the ā€œsteady voltageā€ for the period of time required to gain access to the various compartments?
  8. Lost at least 1 rear motor (Update: Fixed, then rear ended on way home, 2nd update critical battery issue)

Thanks, good information. Another vehicle or a tow-truck level jump box is not something that will always be near at hand, so still curious whether a small rechargeable jump box would be enough to at least gain access. Probably depends upon depth of 12V discharge. Would love to hear from others...
  9. Lost at least 1 rear motor (Update: Fixed, then rear ended on way home, 2nd update critical battery issue)

What did you use to ā€˜jump start’ from those leads? I’ve been trying to find reliable information on just how much juice (typically) needs to be supplied to those leads and for how long in order to allow gear tunnel/frunk access in a 12V failure situation. Will a small rechargeable’ ā€˜jump box’ be...
  10. Lost at least 1 rear motor (Update: Fixed, then rear ended on way home, 2nd update critical battery issue)

(Sorry if hijacking OP’s thread)…I remove and insert a tow hitch when towing… so no help with a bike hitch. The bumper has hard rubber ā€˜ring’ attenuators surrounding the main square support that extends into the receiver and they rebound (on impact) against the receiver frame. Then also has hard...
  11. Lost at least 1 rear motor (Update: Fixed, then rear ended on way home, 2nd update critical battery issue)

Perhaps related to the ā€˜jump start’ contacts next to the hitch receiver being somehow damaged/shorted by the impact? Doesn’t sound likely (especially since others have reported those contacts normally have zero voltage), but that’s all I can come up with. Edit: sounds like others had the same...
  12. Lost at least 1 rear motor (Update: Fixed, then rear ended on way home, 2nd update critical battery issue)

Might I suggest: https://superbumper.com/ The first accessory I purchased… before my R1T was even delivered. Will it work as advertised? Hope I never find out… but makes me feel better and works well as a step. Tested to attenuate a 20 mph impact.
  13. R1T Max Pack Real World Range FWIW: 315 miles

No offense taken. I worked and planned for many years to get to the point where I could splurge on a vehicle with the performance, comfort, utility, inexpensive operation, and dashing good looks of my R1T (on rugged looking All-Terrain tires). And I got exactly the range I needed and exactly the...
  14. How do you handle texts in your R1?

Nationwide? What tells you what is being monitored… document from the insurer? Just curious as I have Nationwide and interact with my phone periodically to request music, make/take calls, and occasionally send text messages (although not review messages when received like I could easily with...
  15. R1T Max Pack Real World Range FWIW: 315 miles

No, all good. Good information. Like I said in my post, I don't usually leave cross bars on, but given your feedback, I will definitely take off unless needed. Thanks.
  16. R1T Max Pack Real World Range FWIW: 315 miles

Just to clarify since you didn't say specifically... your results are with crossbars installed over the bed, not on the cab roof, correct? Thanks for the feedback.
  17. $500 Tonneau cover

Other members here reporting the same on new deliveries… ā€œto be installed at a (undetermined) later timeā€. Sucks, but you are not alone. Yeah… poor process and Customer communication.
  18. Best 3rd party tonneau cover?

Another Interrobang customer here. Took exactly 8 weeks to ship… just as promised. WELL worth the wait. Every indication is it will be SUBSTANTIALLY more durable than the Rivian manual cover, which I had on order but canceled based on all the poor reviews. The interrobang cover is not a cheap...
  19. R1T Max Pack Real World Range FWIW: 315 miles

Don't know, but I mentioned them because it might... same with tonneau cover. I don't normally run with the cross bars attached.
  20. R1T Max Pack Real World Range FWIW: 315 miles

Same here... no idea. But probably as other have said, Nav guesstimate is probably based strictly on posted speed limit... and my foot was not.
