  1. Motortrend article on Conserve Mode causing tire wear

I could have wrote this post. Except I changed tires at 35,000 miles. I used Conserve a lot but drove straight and steady.
  2. Electrify America PlugShare Trends by Region: Sept 1 Update

I put the Las Angeles and San Diego area in its own region for this analysis. Yes, that area scores much lower than the rest of what I called the "SouthWest" region.
  3. Budman

    Paul Bunyans Garage of Minnesota

Try the electrify America station in Pine City. Hit it on the way up and the way back. Also a charge point in Moose Lake but that is a slower 62 kw unit.
  4. Rough day for my R1S... source: house fire, not vehicle

I see a BBQ grill on the left side of the photo. Most damage is confined to the left side of the house…….
  5. Tesla supercharger access delayed for other EV brands

Can you say “lawsuit “. future headline: GM sues Tesla for breach of contract.
  6. Electrify America PlugShare Trends by Region: Sept 1 Update

I have no doubt experiences like yours exist. My experiences, fortunately, have been quite good in the Midwest and mountain west areas. Often, but certainly not always, I’ve seen all charges at an EA station occupied and operating at they should. Hopefully that experience become common.
  7. R1T awesome in May 28 Dallas Storm

I agree with you that the R1T handles well in cross winds. I thought it might just be because of the weight but then we got another E.V. (Volvo XC40 recharge). That gets pushed around much more by the wind.
  8. Electrify America PlugShare Trends by Region: Sept 1 Update

My apologies to the wolverines, Michigan did not get surveyed. The PlugShare filter craps out if more than 250 sites are in the region of the map being viewed. To keep it under 250 all the time and to have clearly defined geographic boundaries I could replicate each time, a few states got...

  10. First Long Trip in my R1S: Lincoln, NE, to Dayton, OH

Yep, once you’ve done an EV road trip you figure out it is no big deal. The Tesla (and Rivian) chargers are definitely a step above the rest for ease of use.
  11. Trailer left connected maintains Rivian's 12V battery?

Here's tangential; I noticed that when I plug in my supplemental LED light bar that I bought on Amazon, the turn signals on the light bar are delayed by one blink. Then, when you step on the brake pedal one turn signal blink lights up before the brake lights illuminate. It appears a turn...
  12. Should I get ABRP Premium?

I like trip planning in PlugShare better. I think a lot of people don’t even know it is there but I like it.
  13. BEWARE - EVGo at Pilot Flying J - ripoff pricing

The underlying question is; what price is required for them to be profitable? The industry needs to be profitable to exist and expand.
  14. Test Result: Battery Degradation at 42,000 miles Just ~3% Degradation (2022 R1T Quad Motor)

In retrospect, I wish I had done this when the truck was new to establish a baseline with these methods. That would have helped underpin the degradation over time.
  15. Test Result: Battery Degradation at 42,000 miles Just ~3% Degradation (2022 R1T Quad Motor)

It is also reported that there is an initially higher rate the first year or so then it slows down to that 1% per year. Also, i have a much higher that average mileage accumulation so I’m happy with the 3% I measured. Thanks for the question. Open to any others thoughts.
  16. Test Result: Battery Degradation at 42,000 miles Just ~3% Degradation (2022 R1T Quad Motor)

Ah, yes. I forgot to include that. Typically 70% but we make frequent trips to our cabin 165 miles away so then I often do 80% to 90%. I try hard to not leave the truck sit for long periods below 50% or above 75%. We live in MN so not much time sitting in hot, sunny parking lots. I’ve...
