  1. Test Result: Battery Degradation at 42,000 miles Just ~3% Degradation (2022 R1T Quad Motor)

I got my Quad Motor Large Pack R1T in July, 2022. VIN in the 8000 range. Been driving the heck out of it and loving every mile. I have the 21" road tires. Yesterday I attempted a battery degradation test for the first time. My procedure was as follows; 1. Fill battery to 100% as indicated...
  2. Guess it was my time - 12v is dead

Progress, of sorts. It does seem like a good number of battery issues are really just a symptom of some other underlying mechanical issue.
  3. How did we do? R1T fully loaded from LA to Seattle.

Well done. Very respectable efficiency. Cool setup. I might look into something like that.
  4. RJ interview on CNBC - May 8, 2024

No news but they asked him about the Apple rumors and the Tesla Supercharger issue. Got the typical non-direct answers CEOs usually give but the Apple rumor answer was not "No" and there was maybe some RJ body language they make me think maybe????
  5. NY Times. EV charging future isn’t so bleak

Not much new. But “experts” say the Tesla pull back isn’t as harmful as it might seem. NEVI funded sites will start to come online at an increasing rate. One per day by end of year?
  6. R3 + R3X Colors Previews ?

I vote red. I’m a Rivian blue R1T guy but the red looks good on the R3.
  7. Entire Tesla Supercharger team fired (Update: Elon Musk says supercharger network growth will continue). ** ⚠️ ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS **

I also have had very positive experiences with electrify America. As excited as we all are about having access to superchargers, I plan to use EA whenever possible to give them the revenue stream to remain viable.
  8. Entire Tesla Supercharger team fired (Update: Elon Musk says supercharger network growth will continue). ** ⚠️ ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS **

Most of the other E.V. makers had agreements to get access to the superchargers. If they no longer have Tesla people to work with on software protocols etc, do they have grounds to file lawsuits against Tesla for breach of contract?
  9. Tesla losing steam in Ca

Now reports are stating the entire Supercharger team was laid off?????
  10. Anyone receive an R2 Configuration Survey from Rivian?

Most have a physical key as a backup in case the battery dies. Hidden inside the FOB. That is what I meant.
  11. Anyone receive an R2 Configuration Survey from Rivian?

Got one too. In the additional input area I said it would be good to have a mechanical key and easier access to replace the 12V battery if it dies.
  12. New charger open on I-35 to Duluth

Three 120 kw chargers just opened in North Branch, MN on the way to Duluth. Very badly needed on this stretch of highway. At a Ford dealer. Behind a fence that might be closed when the dealership is closed.
  13. Chicago to Vancouver - Use Rivian or ABRP?

I’ve done a couple trips of that magnitude. I actually use the trip planner in PlugShare the most. The interface is really nice. You build your trip stop by stop as it has a nice display showing your range and what chargers are around that envelope. I have a primary charger and a backup in...
  14. Guess it was my time - 12v is dead

12v batteries can just die. They just do. Rivian has now made 100,000 vehicles. If there is 1 12v failure a week across the fleet then the failure rate is just 0.052% per year. Even one per day across the fleet is just 0.36% in a year. Perspective.
  15. My R1T is going on a 2000 miles trip and need advise on charging

View this thread I recently posted about a recent trip https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/the-ultimate-efficiency-report-mn-to-sedona-and-back-in-r1t.26039/page-2#post-515356 I have done three long road trips with no issues. Just do a little advanced planning in PlugShare and stay top...
  16. DC Fast Charging Expansion in MN and WI

I don’t think the charging companies understand the cabin culture here and the migration that happens every summer weekend.
  17. DC Fast Charging Expansion in MN and WI

Circle k has decommitted some of their planned installations. Forest lake, Monticello, and others that were “coming soon” are no longer on their website.
