Took about 10 weeks total for all the components to finally arrive, and I was able to get it together quickly and toss the RTT on top. This is the 19" version, with AXS hinge on one side. Can see the bed camera, lift the spare tire door, put bike in the back. I'm totally happy!
started at 65 with some of the discussion on the forum previously. This coming weekend I'll have time to do a chalk test and will adjust accordingly. At 65, it *feels* ok. not harsh/stiff. It has a max PSI 0f 80
My short-term follow-up on the KO3s after a few hundred miles.
Prior tire setup:
- Rivian 20" AT darks
- stock Pirelli, 45psi cold
- Swapped at 20K miles after increasing noise, down to <5/32" tread depth.
- Over 20K miles, mixed driving (elevation, surface?) comprising of 9.44MWh usage...
Add me to the group that picked up some KO3 from Tire Rack. Replaced my Pirelli Scorpion 20s that were getting pretty noisy.
Will report back in a few weeks with impressions!
One of these days we will hear how this all started as a gag joke like the flamethrower and the cyborg, but they decided to do it because people were throwing their money at the idea
It is, but it doesn’t serve any structural purpose when the tent it up. It helps pull the tent in when it suddenly deflates (and in taking this pic I was getting ready to pack it up
I got mine yesterday and replaced the mattress with a 4" Exped air mattress, (Duo LW+). Not that anything is wrong with the supplied mattress (its actually pretty good, its just that I had this Exped already for ground tent camping).
Anyways, when deflated the Exped can remain in the tent when...
The KO3 is also recently available in the LT275/65-R20 size, a few have installed that. Compared to the KO2 said to be a lot quieter and improvements in wet/snow traction. As someone who is trying best for 1-quiver tire for road/off-road/snow willing to sacrifice some efficiency for versatility...
I had ceramic tint installed, and it helped quite a bit with the heat coming through the top glass. Didnt get rid of it, but made it much more comfortable.
I'm approaching Week 8 (7 weeks , 4 days) since ordering my R1T bedrack. I've read that sometimes things just show up, show up in multiple packages/deliveries.
What has everyone's experience been? @Gman ? Is there heads up that things are coming with tracking numbers/etc? The Xtrusion site just...
So, I too was concerned about the open extrusion cells before, and had resolved that if it was an issue, I was going to use something along the lines of the Gorilla Patch and Seal waterproof tape (the heavy duty butyl tapes) as a "semi-permanent" patch to streamline, and close those off.
Two...
R1T with reinforced underbody
Have had zero issues with anything collecting in the open extrusion cells that were covered by the plastic that was removed, despite trail runs, submerging, rain, etc.
Happy to share when I do it. Unfortunately not sure when it’ll arrive. @Scudzey posted pics of the 19” install here: https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/bed-rack-options-from-xtrusion-overland.12182/post-374342
maybe he/she can comment on putting a bike over the tailgate
There was one video a while back where someone had I think 16" and his mountain bike fit under the rack, BARELY. He had to put the bike in sideways to get it in there and his dropper had to be all the way down. Also, the spare tire door opened, BARELY. Since I think that I may be putting more...
