BMW iX3 is actually not their entry level eSUV. They have a second gen iX1 coming on the Neue Klasse platform. Production starts 11/27.
Base model iX3 pricing will start just above $50k.
That is exactly what the Launch Ed should be priced at...$59,990. Slightly above the competition, for a more premium product.
Keep in mind the "juniper" Model Y Launch Ed was $60k. It was a non-Perf Model Y with fsd, wheels, paint, accel boost standard.
Highest prices for regular gas in last 10 years was June 2022. Just under $5/gal. Oil prices at the time were $122/barrel.
Current AAA reg avg is $3.32. We have a ways to go.
If Rivian can undercut Model Y Perf pricing by $2500, that would be a huge win for customers. Personally I don't see it happening.
Rivian to me seems like a more luxury product, they should charge a premium over Model Y pricing. Customers will pay it. Rivian needs profits!
Exactly, their pricing will never translate to our market. The pricing is misleading to say the least. The reason Biden admin increased tariffs on Chinese vehicles to 100%, is due to how much China subsidizes their EV industry. They are also not fully transparent about the amount of...
That never seems to stop people from buying gas guzzling trucks and suvs. The highest national avg for regular gas in the last ten years was June 2022(just under $5/gal). Market was more constrained by semiconductor shortages at that time. People were paying over sticker.
If Rivian launches the expensive LE on 12th and also reveals the full range with options and pricing...there won't be any complaining(unless pricing is absurd). If they gatekeep the $45k base model, they will receive some backlash.
That $3,000 lease bonus won't be available on R2. Rivian won't need incentives to move R2 inventory anytime soon.
You are dreaming a $60k spec R2 will be in $600s. A $45k Model Y Prem RWD is $660.
Go in R1S configurator, it has leasing without incentives for apples to apples. R2 will not...
That is just the reality of situation. A no option Model Y Perf at $58k msrp is $890/m with zero down(+ tax/fees). A R1S Dual Standard with no options is $1,011/m with zero down(+ tax/fees).
They are not going to gives these away. Rivian doesn't have ICE sales to help subvent EV leases like...
BMW iX3 40 sdrive specs leaked. (single motor, base model)
82.6kwh usable
315hp/370tq
200kg lighter than 50x model
40sdrive and 40xdrive under $55k. Sdrive closer to $50k.
They release sales numbers just like every manufacturer. Not sure how they would hide anything.
I wouldn't be surprised if a temp $20k price cut moved a good amount of metal.
I think some need to get their pricing expectations in check. The trim level chosen for LE is next step down from a Tri-motor. The LE spec is Dual/Large Performance with premium interior. It will be the most expensive Dual-motor trim(max spec).
All we know is from RJ's mouth. He said in recent cnbc interview..."we are launching with a dual-motor performance package, with our largest battery pack and a premium interior."
Launch Ed:
- Dual-motor
- Large Battery
- Performance Pack
- Premium interior
Dual-motor Large pack will likely be volume seller. That trim before options better be no more than $54,990. If they can come in under that, they will sell very well.
The Model Y "Juniper" Launch Ed was just a regular Long Range Model Y...with FSD, paint, 20in wheels, acceleration boost standard. They charged $60k.
The fact Rivian chose to do a Performance version(R2 LE has yellow brake calipers and badging), tells me this thing is not going to be $55k...
This seems more realistic. $55k for normal Dual/Large non-Perf and $60k for Launch Ed(fully spec Dual Perf w/ LE specific badging). I also think the base $45k R2 will be de-contented more than many think. Making the delta to higher trims levels greater.
The EV model was cancelled. The EREV model went on as planned. EREV was once named the Ramcharger, it has since been changed to Ram 1500 REV. It will now get all the normal Ram trims, starting at $60k.
