They had as many as 37,000 preorders, if their propaganda could be believed, and 7,000 cars delivered. It's a pricey vehicle and from the couple I've seen in person, it's a bit clunky, especially at the rear. I feel the same way about the Porsche Panamera. Drove behind one on my commute this...
I started my 8-step on Monday and paused at the insurance step. That Saturday (6 days later) I received an email telling me that my vehicle was ready for pick-up on Monday. I replied that I wasn't sure if I could finalize payment over the weekend so we rescheduled to Tuesday and I made the wire...
We made a similar mistake in our first week of ownership. We recently bought a house in the country and the week before Christmas my wife wanted to drop off some treats for our new neighbors (spread about a quarter mile apart each). Plenty of snow on the ground, but less than a foot. First three...
Not trying to hijack this thread but I was stuck in traffic this morning and a Macan pulled up alongside me with temporary plates, looked like it just came off the lot. I had a little time to kill as traffic wasn't moving and I was really surprised to see obvious gaps/uneveness where the hood...
When we were there in December there was a similar inventory of vans. We were told that Amazon takes delivery via flatbed, so it's 2 vans at a time. Not an especially efficient process.
How about 3rd-party offsite parking? There are several services, some with EV charging available. Cheaper than O'Hare parking and you can probably arrange for a top-up the day before your arrival. Here's one:

The thought crossed my mind but I'd like to wait for something more than an incremental change. There are temptations out there. We had a Genesis a few years back and I loved it. The GV70 electric has some appeal. If the GV80 electric comes out next year that might do it.
Although we've had the R1S for about 3 months it's the wife's everyday car and I drive our Prius downtown to work (I'm in a busy public garage, basically begging for a scratch or ding). We swapped for the first time yesterday and although I've driven it on the weekends it was a lot of fun for my...
Probably not a lot in the grand theme of things. We received ours in late December 2022, so they may have held off on production (odd because they reportedly can change paint color on the fly in the painting process between vehicles).
Very happy with our EA option at a nearby upscale shopping mall. The only problem is that my wife almost always shops while she charges, so it gets expensive quickly.
These free services are included in Roadside Assistance:
12-volt battery jumpstart
Flat tire assistance, including installation of spare tire, if your Vehicle is equipped with one
Vehicle lockout assistance (including remote unlock via OTA, if your Vehicle has connectivity)
You tend to see more posts from people who are unhappy so it seems like that's the norm. We haven't had a day of trouble (no DC charging issues, no update issues, no PAAK/keyfob issues, etc.) But we also don't show up every day posting about how happy we are.
Wife and I both have iPhones (12 and 13). Works like a charm. We both carry the cards for valet use but have never used the fob and she stopped wearing the wristband after the first few days.
If we follow the laws of physics (and my anecdotal experience) the it is indeed 2 miles of reported charge in an hour. Whether you get 2 miles of actual range on that charge is subject to different laws of physics.
We were surprised by our slightly early delivery so we did not yet have our wall...
