I wrote elsewhere about my frustration with the air suspension in my 1986 Subaru. Very prone to failure, expensive to replace. But that was 1986. The technology has gone through numerous iterations since then and has proven reliability. Rivian didn't even create it, they're sourcing it from...
My wife impulsively leased a XT a few years back. She hated it almost immediately and it went back before the lease ended. I hope they can follow through on this model but I haven't been excited by Cadillac for some time. My brother in law has a CT5 that he loves but it doesn't grab me.
Floor is the same as for all equities, zero. It's foolish to try and predict performance for a company with no earnings or track record of performance. Anyone who claims to know is full of ____.
Haven't heard any change in plans. This article from a month ago still mentioned Rivian.

EV sales are at 2% of the new vehicle market. Nobody's here to "destroy," they're tapping into a share of a growing market. The more established companies have been slow to adapt, but they will adapt.
If we were dealing with reality the stock would be somewhere near $5. We're well into surreality. It's a fool's errand to try and rationalize this market. This is no different than GameStop mania, just with bigger wallets.
As a total aside, my wife, who is the #1 cause of chest pain in my house, once went in for an oil change and drove home in a new car. Much like normal people might pick up a pack of gum in the checkout line.
You can't "forecast" based on nothing. Most analysts will follow a stock for years and then make predictions based on market demand, anticipated sales/revenue and future growth potential. And they're still mostly wrong.
Mainly a hydraulic reservoir, but that was plainly not designed for production. Looked like a consequence of the short timeframe they had to get a vehicle ready for the show.
Let me get this straight -- there are corporations, right here in the U.S., that benefit from governmental programs and policies???? Stop. The. Presses.
Slow news day indeed.
Undoubtedly perceived conflict/insider trading. My son works at a huge law firm that works for nearly every large corporation at some level. He is barred from trading in equities; funds are it for him. And he never talks shop around me.
Those valuations were much, much lower. Amazon, with $3.8B invested, holds 20%. That's a valuation under $20B. I get that they invested in tranches with increasing valuation, but their last round was still in the $20's. We're at $112B now. Just nuts.
Was looking at that OONI (since its original crowdfunding days) but the vegetarian wife decided that "we" were going to lay off carbs this year. She's since eased up on her directive so maybe I'll go for it. Neighbor bought a very high-end outdoor pizza oven this summer so I'll forever be behind...
