Yep, my guide call today for my R1S said initial deliveries started last week, so who knows. Exact same thing happened during the early days of Tesla. No one communicates in these startups ?
Yahoo! Early R1S reservation holder here in San Diego and I just got my guide contact email tonight, with call schedule for tomorrow (Tuesday). First question Iāll be asking is if I need to change config to get it faster. Second question is can I test drive either the R1T or R1S before delivery.
This Tesla adapter seems to be highly rated, and theyāve been selling it for years. Should work with any non Tesla EV that needs a charge from a Tesla destination charger.

The X works well on the freeway, I would expect the R1S to also handle well there, but I'll let you know. That's assuming my wife will let me drive "her" R1S.

So, check your config, especially after the price changes back...
Yeah, the line about R1S coming off the line is meaningless. They have to produce a lot of non customer vehicles for validation and crash testing.
But nice to hear about delivery guides for a few R1S!
The "why do we need a 12V battery at all" question has been raging on the Tesla forums since 2012. And got very heated when Tesla had several year's worth of bad batteries, necessitating emergency swap outs. The answer is always safety. When you get into a crash, the car will blow the high...
For those R1S folks, the Reddit forum is saying that customer R1S are coming off the assembly line. Iām an early reservation holder, so i am now hoping my April/May estimated date sticks!
