  1. R1S Guide Contact about to happen! [Email received]

Yep, my guide call today for my R1S said initial deliveries started last week, so who knows. Exact same thing happened during the early days of Tesla. No one communicates in these startups ?
  2. April - May 2022 Delivery Club/Hype Thread

Yahoo! Early R1S reservation holder here in San Diego and I just got my guide contact email tonight, with call schedule for tomorrow (Tuesday). First question I’ll be asking is if I need to change config to get it faster. Second question is can I test drive either the R1T or R1S before delivery.
  3. Any evidence of load sharing capability with Rivian chargers?

The J1772 Tesla EVSE isn’t even listed anymore at the Tesla store, so maybe they discontinued it.
  4. Any evidence of load sharing capability with Rivian chargers?

While the Rivian EVSE is a good deal, it doesn’t currently have load sharing, so just look for another EVSE that does.
  5. Finding a Hotel with a Charger

This Tesla adapter seems to be highly rated, and they’ve been selling it for years. Should work with any non Tesla EV that needs a charge from a Tesla destination charger. http://www.umc-j1772.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=17&product_id=102

Sure. You can always change it back when you have been contacted by a guide, and see if it’ll make a difference.

The X works well on the freeway, I would expect the R1S to also handle well there, but I'll let you know. That's assuming my wife will let me drive "her" R1S.
  8. Rivian update email with R1S guide promise

Oh Gawd No. That's not a laughing matter!!!
  9. Rivian update email with R1S guide promise

I'm an R1S reservation holder since November 2018 and I just today got this email (I had an April-May delivery date previously): "It’s almost time to meet your Rivian Guide! Next week, we’ll start reaching out via email. Once you hear from us, youā€˜ll be able to connect directly with your Rivian...

Woo hoo! I just got this email. I'm an R1S reservation holder since 2018 and I had a previous April-May delivery email: "It’s almost time to meet your Rivian Guide! Next week, we’ll start reaching out via email. Once you hear from us, youā€˜ll be able to connect directly with your Rivian Guide as...

I had updated my config a week ago before they adjusted my pricing back to the original pricing. Now that they've changed my pricing back to original, I noticed that my config changes were gone. So I had tp update the config again. So, check your config, especially after the price changes back...
  12. R1S's are being delivered (according to Rivian customer support)

A lot of what goes on at Rivian can be explained by saying they are a startup. All startups are messed up!
  13. April - May 2022 Delivery Club/Hype Thread

Absolutely. The reason you got bumped to the head of the line is that you were local to that truck and were willing to buy before the end of 3/31.
  14. 20” AT vs 21” standard tires.

Does anyone know what the specs are with the Rivian supplied AT 20ā€ tire? Does it have an M+S stamp on it?
  15. April - May 2022 Delivery Club/Hype Thread

Nice. Sound like Rivian wants to sell as many trucks as possible before end of quarter. Standard operating procedure for a new public company!
  16. April - May 2022 Delivery Club/Hype Thread

Yes, that’s what a normal person would infer from the subject line … which probably means it’ll be the exact opposite ?
  17. R1S's are being delivered (according to Rivian customer support)

Yeah, the line about R1S coming off the line is meaningless. They have to produce a lot of non customer vehicles for validation and crash testing. But nice to hear about delivery guides for a few R1S!
  18. 12v battery tech

The "why do we need a 12V battery at all" question has been raging on the Tesla forums since 2012. And got very heated when Tesla had several year's worth of bad batteries, necessitating emergency swap outs. The answer is always safety. When you get into a crash, the car will blow the high...
  19. April - May 2022 Delivery Club/Hype Thread

For those R1S folks, the Reddit forum is saying that customer R1S are coming off the assembly line. I’m an early reservation holder, so i am now hoping my April/May estimated date sticks!
