China is not a significant part of the semiconductor supply chain. Taiwan is, but they are locked in a Cold War with China, so not likely to be helping China in any way.
Theres nothing wrong with LFP, in fact the opposite if you don’t need max range. With LFP, you can charge to 100% all the time and not degrade the battery, with nickel, you should only charge to 100% occasionally when making long trips. LFP is also a way safer chemistry, so less likely to catch...
Yeah that's what I got from it. RJ often isn't very clear, is he? Almost like he doesn't want to be clear on things he thinks others are going to be disappointed about. Anyways, anyone know why Rivian didn't spend the last several years developing their own motors from the get go?
Yes, in line with Tesla's first mass production ramp. It's just that people had pie in the sky dreams about Rivian (and Lucid and everyone else). Reality is hitting, and the stock price will likely settle down to something more rational until Rivian surprises ... 2 years from now. The company...
One of the analysts tried hard to tell RJ that their prices were still too low. RJ completely missed the point, thought the guy was saying the opposite. And later in the call, the analyst's point was backed up by the Rivian marketing guy when he said they had more or less the same number of new...
Based on what I heard on todays fourth quarter investor conference call, my guess is that V2H features are a future hardware thing that will be rolled into the product line late this year. Early customers won’t get it.
FYI, with the price increases today, it’s now the $750 wall charger. Which turns it from bargain to slightly overpriced (until everyone else raises their prices).
Thats the thing that annoys me about Rivian, I mean if they have parts shortages. They have very low volume and they had a long time to put in advance orders. Manufacturers were ramping up orders over a year ago since the possibility of a sh*tshow for supply chain was obvious back then. There is...
So far 0 vs 0 unless I missed one in the first half. But there have been a bunch of other EV commercials. Polestar, Silverado, BMW and a commercial for an EV Charger (Wall box I think?). What a waste of money for the ev charger.
Given that Rivian is supposedly making 200 trucks a week now, whey haven’t we seen any new posts here or elsewhere of new owners getting their deliveries? Or am I just blind and missing those posts?
Yep, now that I looked it up, LG not only supplied the cells, but the battery pack too. Made it easy to apportion blame from a supplier perspective.
I realize prismatic cells are being used by everyone else, but that doesn’t make them better.
