  1. EV vs ICE - Most Comprehensive Study Ever Performed [report by American Chemical Society]

Anyone on the internet has heard the excuses not to get an EV. It doesn't tow. It can't go 750 miles without charging. I might have to wait 20 whole minutes for a charge. I like to think about the inverse. How many cars never drive more than 100 miles from home? Two car households don't...
  2. RAM BEV is dead

GM and Ford took different strategic directions. Ford rushed to get EV's to market without a dedicated EV platform. It got them to market several years earlier with vehicles that were high quality for the time. Ford always planned to build a dedicated EV platform after they learned lessons...
  3. J1772 AC to NACS adapter was left behind HEADS-UP

This does spark an idea to use a label maker to put my contact info on my adapters. This is probably a good idea. I haven't left mine behind yet, but I could easily see it happening. Most people want to be a good samaritan and return something like this, but they'll only go through the effort...
  4. RAM BEV is dead

Stellantis has tons of options in their portfolio for successful EV’s and they keep picking the worst ones. -An EV Wrangler could be the most capable stock off-road vehicle ever. -There’s room in the Jeep brand for a high volume mid-size SUV. -An EV Pacifica would nearly have that segment of...
  5. Rivian Update 2025.34 Now Downloading! - Upgrades / Fixes to Expect

Agree completely. I've commented on enough threads about this that I don't want to dive too deep into "constant complainer" territory. My simple answer is that I DON"T WANT streaming services. I have a quality music collection I own, and I'd rather listen to that.
  6. BestEvMod’s September Giveaway for Rivian Owners!

Near Valley of the Gods, Utah.
  7. Rivian Update 2025.34 Now Downloading! - Upgrades / Fixes to Expect

Is there an official place to submit a bug report? I found a minor one in Apple music that is quite annoying, but probably doesn't impact a huge number of people. Apple music will no longer play music that's part of my library, but not purchased through Apple. For example, CD's I purchased...
  8. Rivian commercial van on Bring a Trailer Ends 9/17/2025

I wonder if Rivian would even service that for a private owner.
  9. RAM 1500 REV Truck with 500 Miles Range

The full EV segment is pretty saturated based on the number of sales. Between the F150, R1T, and GM's offerings, there's already more supply than current demand can justify. Stellantis seems like a company that should be able to figure out EV's with all of their European assets and technology...
  10. Rivian R1S gets EV Sportline Rock Slider / Running Boards - Step up & Protect!

I remember reading some threads about Rivan refusing to put vehicles on lifts with aftermarkets runners or rock sliders. Has anyone had recent experience with this? Is this still true?
  11. Tesla's Dangerous Doors (electronic door latches) - Can Rivian please not follow this trend?

I'm not the person you're responding to, but in my case, I generally like new technology. I have minor gripes about some of the implementation, but I prefer Rivian's approach to most technology things. It's still reasonable to object to new technology when it causes blatant safety issues...
  12. Colorado Checking In

They'll certainly need these service centers for the R2 launch. It will be like the new Subaru up and down the front range. I wonder if the R2/R2 will sell enough volume to justify a SC in the mountains or Grand Junction.
  13. Rivian Smart Charging Arrives in Next OTA Software Update

I didn't mean to imply you CAN'T override it. It is slightly confusing at first. You still set your charge level in the app, and you can always select "charge now". But the scheduled times are overridden by Weavegrid, and you have to log into Weavegrid for some of the scheduling options...
  14. Tesla's Dangerous Doors (electronic door latches) - Can Rivian please not follow this trend?

https://cleantechnica.com/2025/09/10/couple-sues-tesla-over-faulty-door-handles/ Tesla was just sued by a woman who suffered third degree burns and lasting lung damage because it took too long to get her out of the vehicle. I just keep thinking about the cost benefit analysis on these door...
  15. Rivian Smart Charging Arrives in Next OTA Software Update

Weavegrid is interesting. It is tied to the vehicle in this case. It is also compatible with a few chargers. Part of the program (at least through my utility of XCEL Colorado) involves letting the utility decide when to charge your car. You can restrict it to off-peak hours, and tell it what...
  16. Rivian Smart Charging Arrives in Next OTA Software Update

You shouldn't need to. The point of Weavegrid integrations is to eliminate the need for a smart charger. The downside (at least in the Tesla implementation) is that your utility needs to be working with Weavegrid as well.
  17. Tesla's Dangerous Doors (electronic door latches) - Can Rivian please not follow this trend?

What makes them better? Genuinely curious, as I haven’t heard that opinion before.
