How bad is the wobble? When I shelled out 7 grand for new 20" wheels from rivian, sure enough once I hit 65mph the next day I felt a very strong shake in the steering wheel. It did come and go with speed, but as I've had poorly balanced tires many times before I knew what it was. My guess is...
Cool idea, just checking their site

It's $350 to be 15 minutes from home...maybe we can just see which roads they use and do our own drive, and not have to wait till october either :)
Your pack was definitely cold if it started that slow! Make sure you use navigation to route to a charger so it helps to warm it up before you get there, but the pack is massive so if it is truly frozen it could take a good hour to warm up enough. If you instead keep you truck plugged in...
This is true of any RWD car. The rears are not spinning but the fronts can spin freely. You parked on a slick slope with some temporary traction on top due to the fresh snow, but that quickly melts away due to pressure and you get wet ice which can't hold the truck. This is why in the old days...
I've been saying for months since I've been watching this that Rivian needs to kick in battery cooling much sooner. It had been doing nothing till the pack hits 50C, then immediately slowing to ~100kW which slowly ramping the compressor up to full to cool the pack.
The new update still does...
Just beware when using the truck to limit current when charging, there is a longstanding Rivian bug that resets it back to 34A (!?!) and when it goes to top up again after charging completes, it can pop a breaker, or worse.
Better is to use a portable EVSE other than rivian's that has proper...
So this video is making a judgement on outlet quality only by their weight and price? Neither have anything to do with their ability to pass current.
The vast majority of outlet failures including those installed by electricians are simply because the screws in back were too loose or loosened...
I hate unecessary capacitive touch buttons and the current trend of using them more and more in automotive, and this is a perfect example. Because it's capacitive, it's completely non functional when wet or damp. Wish we could at least open it from the phone app
It took Tesla several years to add the option for the user to pick wheel size. Hopefully rivian is faster, but I know firsthand they have a daunting number of systems that are attached to it so it will be a lot of work to implement
It seems silly to me that there would be any technical issues with the half inch height difference. It definitely nerfs your acceleration though. Once I have them switch back to 21" config in the spring I'm keeping it there.
Awesome, I didn't think they made it out east yet! Keeping my eyes peeled, I often drive along with a sea of amazon trucks as they release for the day in southern NH
