Right on the nose that the center console needs some dividers and trays, and frustrating that there is no rivian aftermarket to offer them yet. Hoping some 3D printing folks come up with a decent solution soon.
Thrilled to see a lot of activity lately!
I still need to find some time to swing by Chelsea, if for no other reason to see more colors and maybe make some new friends
Yeah the vents are motorized, I would avoid attaching anything to them. Not to mention it will block that badly needed air! Bad enough the vents are often off due to software bugs lately
Love the look of those rims! I might consider those with mud/snow tires for the winter, if they offer them by the fall.
It was really easy for me to login to geico and add the rivian vin during the 8 steps. Rivian doesn't offer its own insurance in MA.
Tonight I successfully found CAN, captured some logs, and decoded some real-ish data!
The rivian makes such a great hacking environment with the convenient seat and 120v for my oscilloscope!
We will be tackling this in my Canserver Discord.
Yeah well at the moment my list of suggestions for Rivian is several pages long, and they're still scrambling to figure out the simple things. I'll give them a few months before I start bugging them with suggestions. But still would be nice to say Hi and see all the other colors for the first time
It's fairly easy to run wire to the 12v socket in the center of the dash, just pushing the wire into the edge of the headliner and A-pillar, and then pulling off the under-wheel knee plastic. I did so for my dashcam and will do another for RD soon. It's worth a little extra effort to run...
I absolutely agree it's disappointing the oboard charger doesn't support 277VAC. I was hoping it does and just unpublished, sad to hear it shuts down (and I hope nothing else fails).
That's one benefit of Tesla's integrated onboard charger and PCS, it can handle any voltage up to that of the HV...
Yep, I kept my Tesla mobile connector and wide array of NEMA adapters, and have a TeslaTap Mini so I can plug my Rivian into anything...it works great!
You can reduce current in the UI charging screen, but there's a pretty bad bug right now where it not only forgets what you last set it to, but defaults to 34A, which is above the rating of the mobile connector. I reach in and check and fix it every time I plug in.
Great to see Chelsea open and buzzing! I need to swing by again soon and say hi. Hopefully they will have a parts/accessories/merch stock at some point? It seems silly that Rivian send all this big heavy stuff via UPS when I could just drop in there.

Right now I'm draping the cable over the steering wheel and into the 12v in the center, but I will hide it better inside the dash soon.
(PS No need for the case, it works with the bare iphone magsafe perfectly)
You could certainly put it on the right as well, right between the displays. I like the left because passengers won't notice it. Still holding without issue squeezed between the top dash
My initial placement for the Peak Design mount. I'm always hesitant on using adhesive on soft dashboards, and also worried about the wood. Ideal someone can 3D print a plastic clip-in adapter that clips over the dash. But I realized it's really easy to tuck things underneath the top dash and it...
