  1. ? Rivian IPO S1 Filing - reveals preorder numbers, R1S delivery date, Autonomous Subscription Fee & more...

Yeah, but from what I have seen that is the max possible yet people connect to them and regularly get sub 100kwh when ar low battery because the available juice is split between multiple chargers. I know they exist but the experience hasn’t manifested. Maybe I am wrong. My ev doesn’t charge at...
  2. ? Rivian IPO S1 Filing - reveals preorder numbers, R1S delivery date, Autonomous Subscription Fee & more...

I think by the time that there are lots of fast chargers that you can consistently pull more than 200kwh from you will likely have replaced your first Rivian. My confidence in infrastructure improvements is low.
  3. Is there any real advantage to having the 5 seat configuration?

See my post here https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/is-there-any-real-advantage-to-having-the-5-seat-configuration.2205/#post-59552 CS confirmed to me that the larger battery will be available for the 5 and 7 seat versions
  4. ? Rivian IPO S1 Filing - reveals preorder numbers, R1S delivery date, Autonomous Subscription Fee & more...

Tesla has lobbied for special carve out exceptions just for them in numerous states. In those states the dealer requirements exist for everyone but Tesla. Not sure if Ohio is one.
  5. R1T Reviews Master List: JRE, Rivian Stories, Jalopnik, Inside EVs, KBB, Roadshow, ETC

I agree with you. Seems like extra cost / complexity, reduced usability, for very very little benefit.

  7. Rivian Files For IPO Valued at $80 Billion! UPDATE: S-1 Filed

The selling point on Lucid is the efficiency. If you prove you can build an EV drivetrain (they have custom motors IIRC) that is that efficient and execute well enough to satisfy the luxury audience both from a build quality and a service perspective, then the ability to move down market in...
  8. Genesis GV60

Just my opinion, but that shifter is not great. Takes up a bunch of space, and is needlessly complex. More stuff that can break. I like that car companies are moving shifters out of the area between the front seats and reclaiming that area for other stuff. EV shifting on a stalk or a dash...
  9. FOREST GREEN R1T Photos

For those interested Electrek (which had possibly the worst review video) did have FG with FE. Here is a shot:
  10. FOREST GREEN R1T Photos

Yeah, I am a more recent pre-order. So no LG for me :(
  11. Official Cold Weather Driving Thread (Tips, Tricks, Tears)

Yup, in my mind adding 30 minutes 3-4 days a year I drive beyond the range of my EV is more than offset by never needing to go to a gas station the other 360 days a year. My only concerns with EV range are around going to places that have no charging infrastructure far in to the back country...
  12. FOREST GREEN R1T Photos

After seeing all of the review videos and seeing how amazing Forest's Edge interior looks. I am thinking of pairing it with FG exterior. I had beed sold on OC, but FE is pretty striking and should hide dirt pretty well I think FE probably would go better with one of the white / silver / black...
  13. Reviewers Saying JANUARY for R1S Deliveries

Especially since they are relying on mobile service / have very few physical locations.
  14. Lack of Android Auto / Waze is a reason to cancel

The definitely want the data. However, they could also just work out a, probably very cheap, deal with AT&T to always capture and send data even if the customer doesn't pay for a plan. If they just want your driving data, they can get it even if you use google maps via android auto/carplay I...
  15. Lack of Android Auto / Waze is a reason to cancel

I in general agree that in car navigation has a lot of benefits over AA/carplay. Tesla's choice is excellent here: integrate best of breed data (google maps) in to your proprietary nav app. That said, having carplay / aa for all other functions is decidely not a car specific thing. Our phones...
  16. Lack of Android Auto / Waze is a reason to cancel

Quite frankly the biggest argument for standard platforms (AA / Carplay) is that EVERY service is available on them. In the future services will come out that are better than what exists today. Those developers will target iOS and Android first. Proprietary infrastructures won't get the same...
  17. Lack of Android Auto / Waze is a reason to cancel

I'll add one thing: I won't buy a car based on the promise of what "might come with OTA updates". However, no car can OTA update a suspension like Rivians, or the performance, or the styling. It is possible to limp along with bluetooth audio and hope it improves. If you buy a different EV...
  18. Lack of Android Auto / Waze is a reason to cancel

I was really hoping for Rivian to have maps powered by google. They copied soooo much from Tesla, this is one area I was hoping for the same. I am assuming Tesla still has no Apple Music integration, correct? It was rumored to be coming like a year ago, I think from another Elon quote that...
