I think @obababoy ’s point is that nearly all of these interactions are taking place at car shows or media events. RJ has cleared his schedule and is in “brand ambassador” mode. You can’t totally hide your real personality so he likely is a good and genuine person, but there are a ton of...
And the fact that the steering wheel audio controls have left and right be volume down and up respectively and up is last track and down is next track. It is like a moron picked steering wheel control placement. Not to mention the stupid way the driver controls the rear windows. Or the laggy...
Yes the ID.4 is decent. On occasion (usually at very very low speeds) the friction brakes engaging is noticeable. However most of the time the feeling of the brake is very linear, responsive and the mix of regen and friction brakes is well managed.
The VW however doesn’t have a mode where lift...
Yes that is what I was talking about as well. I share your preference.
I think the ideal situation is well implemented blended breaking where friction brakes are only used when the regen is insufficient. Then lift off regen is configurable. People who want 1 pedal driving can crank it up...
To me the biggest question is if the lane keep assist will keep you centered well outside of areas where Driver+ can be activated. The manual says you can activate it whenever there are clear lane markings. However on most cars lane keep assist only corrects when you get close to a lane line...
Awesome! I already have a pump that came with my board and it only takes 8-10 minutes, but if I could use the car compressor without having to bring another device I would love it.
You are 100% correct, maintaining a perfectly neutral position in a one pedal driving setup should be the same as coasting. I just find it way harder to do so than simply taking my foot off the accelerator. I probably would learn to do so, but I have tried on my VW and don’t like it. If I want...
Skimmed through most of the manual. Best news to me is the multitude of key options that come included: FOB, Keycard, wristband and phone key. I hope the phone key works well and I can just not carry keys most of the time.
Next best news was that gear guard records video and you can download...
I agree. 0-60 time is not a selling point for me personally. Faster never hurts, but I am not a racetrack driver. 0-60 in 7-8 seconds is plenty fast. Slower than 9 I raise my eyebrows, and once you hit 6 seconds I no longer care. On electric cars though, fast 0-60 times is almost a...
This 100%
If your employees don't think the infotainment system allows you to put your phone away, what customer will? I really wish they had done what ford did with the Mach E: have your own ecosystem, but let carplay / android auto open up in a window of the screen. Best of both worlds.
I had similar annoyances with VW. They changed VINs on me at the last minute. Luckily I was paying cash, so it didn't really matter, but things are hectic in the car world now. Every dealer / manufacturer is scrambling to try and match people to cars since supply is so tight.
Hey I lead off with "I am pretty sure you didn't talk about this stuff" :) The previous suggestion to email customer support is probably best, but I hate dealing with any companies support line.
Yeah, I am hoping 5 seats can either mean a full size spare or more battery room. However, I doubt that will be a case for a while. Adding that kind of variance adds complexity to the manufacturing process, so while it may come at some point, I am not holding out hope in the next year.
