Did Driver+ actually work there? I am shocked if so. I drive from Portland to Mt Hood or Portland to Bend regularly. If 26 is mapped for Driver+ it will be a big deal for me.
That is not at all what I said, and I tend to not discuss my personal finances on a public forum :)
What was said was that if $50k is "life changing" than you shouldn't be buying a $80-$100k luxury vehicle. To each his own, but if $50k would change my life (ie, pay off credit card debt...
130k is 50k over pre 3/1 pricing, but probably about 35k over current MSRP.
I do agree though that anyone that would view 50k as life changing likely shouldn't be buying a 80/90k car. Obviously their decision to do so, but basically no financial advisor would advise such a move.
Question: How annoying is phone as a key if your home office is about 10 feet away from where you park the car. Will phone as a key basically keep my car unlocked with the door handles presented anytime my phone is in the office with me? (read alllll the time)
I am really excited about not...
My guess: right now you can get more than $50k over pre 3/1 pricing. However there will be very limited demand at that price. National auction sites and such could lead to a few cars sold at 100K+ over pre 3/1 pricing. If I had one I would happily sell at that. Tack on a 2 year wait for a...
You can probably roughly figure that out. What is your normal MPG at that speed on that route with your truck? A Rivian will likely see roughly the same reduction in efficiency from towing the same thing. The physics of added drag impact ICEs and EVs in the same manner. It won’t be perfect but...
My mental model has always been that charging at home made EV “fuel” cost roughly 1/3 to 1/4 of the gas equivalent vehicle on a per mile basis, depending on local rates and prices. As gas prices have gone up that ratio has improved. With current fuel prices my ID4 costs 20% of my Subaru Forester...
I would love a real world range test comparing the 20's and the 21's. Out of Spec's test on the 20s was promising. It sure would be nice to know the range delta between them to know if those ugly, oddball size 21's are worth keeping
For me, I will charge at home 98% of the time, so none of this is a deal breaker to me. That said, my take aways are:
1. Theoretical curve looks fine-to-good.
2. Current thermal management / lack of pre-conditioning is not what it should be.
3. If I had to predict, I would guess within 6...
Fantastic video. All meat. No fluff.
summary: drives amazing. Does everything really well. Big quibbles are charging performance and driver + (it is good when it works, but it works in very few places)
As I mentioned in another thread, I expect them to improve this over time. No matter how much testing you do internally you can’t replicate the volume of real world data your consumers provide after delivery. Much like Ford was conservative with the Mach E initially, I expect Rivian to loosen...

Can you turn off the alexa "always on" mic and make her be driven by a steering wheel button instead of saying "Hey Alexa?"
I despise always on microphones, but like voice controls
