Well, nice to hear other 11/2018 reservation holders are also waiting. To me, this all shows how slowly Rivian is ramping their manufacturing. They are struggling.
Anyone have actual specs for the 20" AT tire? Who makes it, what model is it? I'm wondering about winter specs in particular.
I think I found it, here's the tire (I think): https://www.pirelli.com/tires/en-us/car/catalog/product/scorpion-all-terrain-plus/275_65-r20

This reminds me of the 2012/2013 initial rollout of the Tesla Model S. When I picked up my car in February 2013, the delivery guy was oddly thankful for me purchasing the car. Turns out they had massive numbers of cancellations due to bad press and reported problems in forums. EVs werenāt as...
Queued up at the important bit about Rivian. Looks like Rivian has hired Munro & Associates to help them with manufacturing redesign so that they can build their vehicles faster.
Donāt know if this was said earlier in the thread, but the first thing I did when I got my first Tesla back in the day was take it to a local fast charging station just to make sure it would work before I took a road trip. It did work. Sound like Rivian has missed a QA stepā¦
Tesla is in fact opening up their Superharging network to other EVs. Theyāve done it in many places in Europe. My guess is theyāre waiting for government incentives to do it in the US.
Elon isn't saying something that isn't obvious. Unless they start to actually make vehicles at volume with good margins, Rivian will indeed crater. I can't imagine RJ and the Board don't know this though. With $17B in the bank, it's a bit early to be starting a Rivian deathwatch. Let's take up...
As long as the batteries work, I'm fine with lead acid. Tesla had a horrible time with theirs early on since they ended up with a crap supplier (it was an American supplier, but they subcontracted supply out to some cheapest bidder). And then really early on their charging software wasn't up to...
What the heck happened in April? And do you think this is reflective of overall Rivian delivery numbers, or is this forum skewing the numbers in some way (other than the obvious that we don't see all deliveries!).
Yeah, theyāll have to execute really well in the last two quarters this year. RJ did say that they see light at the end of the tunnel wrt parts shortages. And theyāve run their manufacturing line at burst mode at much higher volume, so those two things together seems to give them confidence...
Yes, this. Rivian will have to switch to a delivery center model at some point since the drive to home isnāt scalable. Also, most of their Q1 manufacturing was last 2 weeks of March, so not enough time to deliver. And they are a startup, so not surprised their outbound logistics arenāt up to...
Stock is probably underpriced, but they havenāt shown they can actually make 25,000 vehicles this year. Based on the numbers given, it looks like a long shot. Also their GA expenses climbed a lot for a company that canāt make a lot of vehicles. Looks to me like they over hired anticipating a...
Iād recommend to install a hardwired 60 amp circuit and get the $500 Rivian wall charger. The extra 8 amps of charge over a 14-50 outlet will be nice. Any full size truck or SUV like the Rivian gulps electrons compared a small Tesla.
Nice! I always like using a wall charger anyways since they are more robust and usually last longer. FYI, Splitvolt web site: https://www.splitvolt.com/
Received via email and signed my PBA yesterday for my R1S reserved Nov 2018 for San Diego delivery. No 8 step process yet whatever that is (unless PBA is step one or two).
Iād be looking for a second circuit. Either a higher power one like a TT-30 30A circuit, or use a second 20A circuit to power either your charging or your accessories.
