  1. Cabin too air tight, doors won't close easily

When my windows are rolled up, when I shut my final door closed, it often doesn't close all the way, being restricted by air pressure inside the vehicle. Seems there's not enough air venting. When a window is open, the doors close very easily, when all windows are closed, I have to give the...
  2. Garage Door programming

Same here. Won't pair with commercial liftmaster gate. Neither did my Tesla FWIW.
  3. Changing Amp Default?

It won't. The truck won't override what the EVSE tells it the maximum it can output.
  4. Bi-directional charging?

I agree. At least the Rivian's have 1,500W 120V AC output, which is enough to run a fridge and freezer and a few other things. Not many EVs even have that, certainly Tesla doesn't. The F150 Lightning is of course the king of the hill as far as power output goes.
  5. Rivian wall charger can't connect to WiFi

So where does the problem manifest itself? On chipsets that are 2.4Ghz only?
  6. Car and Driver Review: 2022 Rivian R1S Has Appeal, but the R1T Pickup Drives Far Better

New R1S owner here. I very much felt the porpoising and floaty feeling on the highway. I had to fiddle with the suspension settings and now have a set that is a lot better (comfort, stiff suspension, low drive height). I most definitely didn’t feel it in the R1T I test drove. I am hoping a...
  7. R1T Home Charging Woes

OK, I figured it out. I guess it didn't have anything to do with it thinking I'm at "home". I changed the timed setting so that it starts at 12:00am and stops at 7:00am. (before I had it stopping at 12:00am). With those times, it will now schedule the charge (or at least it says it will, I'll...
  8. Rivian wall charger can't connect to WiFi

It doesn't matter that it can only connect to the 2.4 Ghz network, as you say, small packets (except for when it updates its firmware, but that's pretty rare for the Wall Charger). The problem is that if you have a mixed network, meaning an SSID that operates on both the 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz...
  9. R1T Home Charging Woes

Thanks! I just updated the app. But there's still no way to set up a proper timed start at midnight, unless I want to get up then. People with long driveways or that live in rural area (ahem, like an adventure vehicle just might do), need to have the "at home" indication be adjustable, or have a...
  10. 6-20p plug with portable charger

Right, that's what you do with all receptacles with ratings less than 40A when using an adapter pigtail. You can readily find adapter pigtails that will go from a NEMA 6-20 (or 6-30, or 14-30) male plug to a NEMA 14-50 female which the Rivian portable charger can then plug into (this is a good...
  11. XM options?

Because that actually sucks. You hop in the car and start driving in your cellular poor area and then you remember you want to listen to XM. So you fumble with your phone while driving, looking up at the road and down at the phone while unlocking the phone, selecting the XM app. No, not the...
  12. NEMA 6-50R available in garage, any need for Rivian Charger?

If you pull new wire, be aware that a 60A circuit will require #4 wire if you use Romex, and #6 if you use wire pulled inside a conduit, or #6 if you use MC 6-2 cable (https://wesbellwireandcable.com/blog/romex-vs-mc-cable/). You can't use either Romex or MC in wet conditions (like underground...
  13. Rivian wall charger can't connect to WiFi

Yeah, in my WiFi network, I just set up a separate "network" or SSID called Blarg2.4 which is set up to only work on 2.4 Ghz. Then all these old devices (like the brand new Rivian charger, sigh), can work by connecting to that Blarg2.4 network. It is rather disappointing that Rivian outsourced...
  14. R1T Home Charging Woes

I might be in the same boat. Maybe that's why my Rivian starts to charge right away when I plug it in? Did you figure out a fix?
  15. XM options?

Its my wife's car and she uses it for listening to broadcast news. So, no, no compromises for that.
  16. XM options?

OK, got the R1S back from the car audio shop. They did a great job, hiding the satellite antenna back where all the other antennas are placed (at the top back of the vehicle). They tapped into the antenna coax cable so they were able to feed the FM signal directly into the Rivian's FM module...
  17. XM options?

As others have pointed out, not including a satellite radio option for an adventure vehicle is just dumb. Not sure who made that call, but yeah, get a clue.
  18. XM options?

My Rivian is now at the car audio integrator so we’ll see what they come up with. I’ll report back. I am hoping they can direct connect to the FM antenna input port on the cars FM module
  19. XM options?

Thanks, I'll look for you original post for the pics. I think I'll phone a car audio integrator or two and see if they have any ideas. I've heard that for the FM antenna to work correctly, you want to install the transmitter antenna right beside the car's FM receiver antenna. Which means a lot...
  20. XM options?

Well, SXM does have an option where the unit will broadcast to an FM frequency, so you just tune your car FM to that frequency for car integration. For news, that’ll probably work just fine?
