The Audi Q4 is not the Audi e-tron. It is a VW ID.4 underneath and those only have heat pumps in certain configurations.
The Audi e-tron, now known as the Q8 e-tron, is an entirely different car. It has an integrated thermal management system with a heat pump and scavenging. It’s state of the...
Great report. I’ve done Denver to Reno, over Donner Pass and then to Oregon. Also Denver to Las Vegas and onward to Barstow and I-5. Those trips were in an Audi e-tron which did 2.2 mi/kWh at 80 MPH in freezing weather. We are doing the I-70 to I-15 Denver-Vegas-Cali drive again soon and I hope...
You don’t have to be an enthusiast. We have gradually gotten 50+ drivers to plug in the PHEVs in our fleet after driving them. It took help but people figure it out fast.
It is different. For sure. People are going to need to learn and I’m happy to show them. Most of our fleet drivers are...
I am not disagreeing with you. Everything you said is true.
The difference is that a few years ago I accepted the facts you describe as my reality. Maybe we are at different places on the same journey.
When I map my route on ABRP it shows how long it takes. It’s right there. If I can’t do what...
It is only a problem if you make it one. I have road tripped in EVs and it went as I expected.
You are comparing it to a gas car road trip. That does not make sense. It’s an EV. They are different. You know that, but yet you complain.
I knew I’d have to plan carefully and limit to 500-550...
If I set the interior temp in any of our EVs to 75 deg F, I would expect to pay for it.
Using battery for heat is how they work and you guys all seem to know it, so I sort of wonder why the OP is so surprised. I am with those of you who suggest dropping that temp setting to 70 or so.
There is not significant negative public sentiment nor was there a negative natural reaction to people buying EVs. You all are seeing a public relations campaign that began in 2022.
The campaign is funded by the API and other fossil fuel interests. Yes, the WSJ is part of the problem. They...
Here is a data point for a dual motor on 21s. Obv it will be a bit lower at high speeds but so far the real world high speed penalty has not been too bad.
So right. My Audi e-tron easily got the 222 mile rating. After Dieselgate they knew better than to fudge the mileage. For me it was LA Silver or nothing because I can’t make it work financially without the credits. Here is my efficiency so far:
Ditto, I am still on 38. I have a new dual motor and no gauge view, so I was excited to get this one but it never came. Being last may have been a good thing this time.
Thanks, this is my 3rd EV. I am not new to them. This includes a lot of highway driving, but mostly in the mountains at 60-70. I have only done about 10% on the freeway at 80.
Also, this was since late September so definitely mild weather.
I am new to Rivian and curious if the efficiency listed on the trip odometers is reliable and accurate. Can any other dual motor R1T owners comment and post their efficiency?
This is my miles since new and I want to know how it compares with other R1Ts.
I have driven my new dual motor R1T in snow/icy conditions a few times now and my truck always starts to slide a little in All Purpose due to the aggressive regen upon lifting off.
Mine does not really SLIDE - slide, however. The ABS and stability control also activate upon sensing lift-off...
I got mine delivered Wednesday and it is excellent. The straps are thoughtfully over-engineered. I had to carefully un-do one of the hold-downs and look at it for a moment to see the fit options. It's hard to explain and the instructions don't illustrate it well.
Different mountain and fat tire...
