Now I'm worried. I have 23 months and 35,540 miles on my R1T. I have an appointment set up to repair my (upgraded) powered tonneau cover. Initially they said they would set up an appointment in February, but then pushed it off until April. So now I'm wondering if they will "surprise" me by...
In the Arizona code, it's called "power display" - which is more points than a speeding ticket - same as "reckless driving." At least that's what the officer said.
Just think - if they'd spent 5 minutes adding it to the set up menu, a couple of years ago, each of us could have done it ourself (if and when needed), rather than having the service guy spend 5 minutes.
I'm being facetious - it would have taken more than 5 minutes to add it. But that's about as...
Google Play Store says that the new version of the Rivian app is not compatible with my Galaxy S10e. Samsung should be slipping Rivian some money for helping them to force new phone purchases.
That's a nice looking unit, and much more budget-friendly than other option(s). It looks very functional, too.
How deep is the side window storage box?
California is one of the few states that have a high enough gas tax such that it pays for a really significant portion of highway work. Also note that it says "repairs," not construction. Everyone, regardless of car type or use, is paying for construction (and for that other 20% of repairs)...
The tax on gasoline is woefully insufficient to pay for road construction and maintenance. Most road construction and maintenance comes from general revenues, which everyone pays into. To act like ICE vehicle owners have some virtuous claim, due to the minimal gas tax, ignores the reality.
Kaizan (sp?) can now install and calibrate windshields, so that won't be a problem. The new SE Valley Rivian service center should be opening soon, so that should reduce the bottleneck on service.
I don't think that their software team is going to fix any of those issues. The owl sound is just a marginal piece of code - a bone thrown to the aficionados. Eventually there'll be something in the OTAs that will meet your approval.
I wish there were RANs in between Tucson and Lordsburg. There are ~10 EA chargers in Marana and 4 EA chargers in Bensen (IIRC). And there are ~16 Rivian-accessible Superchargers in Marana or NW Tucson. But going to the Chiricahuas or to Bisbee, or up the Coronado Trail to the White Mountains is...
It sure would be nice if Rivian would just insert code to allow us to calibrate via a certified 1 mile or 10 mile section of road. As a point of reference, 40 years ago, I installed an aftermarket device that allowed me to do that in my Nissan 4WD pickup. That way, no matter what tire/wheel (or...
Maybe not, but "Rivian is headquartered in Irvine, CA." (from Rivian.com)
When I bought my R1T, I had to send cashier's checks to California.
And Palo Alto is, apparently, where the Audi was modified to run Rivian software.
