Google Pixel 6 with NFC on, does not work on gen 1 R1T (which shouldn't surprise anyone).
The workaround/hack is that I've got one of my keycards squished between the back of my Pixel and it's Spigen case. Key card is nice and secure, and all I need to do is tap the back of my phone to the...
Mine had the same issue this summer. SC visit and some kind of battery disconnect/reconnect got everything back running. Initially, I thought it was a comms module that failed too -- but a real hard reboot fixed it. Sucks that I had to have it hauled to the SC, but it's all good now.
(p.s...
I am in Winston-Salem also - with a Rivian Blue R1T. I'm pretty sure I've seen you near Jonestown/Kester Mill. Very sorry for your accident; IMHO (but of course I'm not a lawyer) the other driver appears 100% at fault.
The car was announced about 12 months before scheduled launch. Then it had successive delays that added up to about another 6 months. Then after the first vehicles were delivered, there was a 'stop sale' on the model while GM fixed a huge number of software glitches. The stop sale lasted...
If they hadn't pucked the fooch so badly on stuff like the Blazer EV, (and battery-gate with the BOLT), maybe they'd be further along.
FWIW, my son has a '22 Bolt EV, and it is a fantastic car. I was a reservation holder on the Blazer EV, until GM totally screwed the launch.
^ I'm pretty sure I've seen you around town. (I have a blue R1T and work near Jonestown/Kester Mill).
Uggg. very sorry to see that. Has insurance deemed that a total loss b/c of the frame damage?
(I kept a window rolled down, disabled all gear-guard nonsense, and put mine on a level 1 charge. I got the message at 70%, and everything was fine when mobile service arrived. I did not drive any further after getting the message.)
Isn't it bonkers how they're all failing in such rapid succession?
Almost like there was an 'expiration' date on the batteries. Or, in a tin-foil conspiracy thought: maybe Rivian knows *all* the batteries need replacement and they're just OTA 'messaging' the fleet so it's an under-the-table...
Y'all are going to think I'm just a "me too".... but this morning, my R1T, I'd swear made some kind of Halloween noise every few minutes on my commute. It was something like a crow/hoot sound, but nothing appeared on any of the screens to suggest what it was.
I'll pull the camp speaker out on...
That is basically what I did, and it was fine. (I also turned off all gear guard stuff and rolled down the drivers window -- just to be super-duper safe). Mobile service replaced the 12v in a few days.
FWIW, with the new software + new 12v batteries, my 'vampire' drain remains crappy. This morning I parked inside a temp-controlled location allowing the truck to sleep, but not plugged into any charger. Parked with 218 miles on the remaining range. Ten hours later, when I got in the truck to...
Disagree with
That is not the experience I witnessed specifically during the last two days.
My charge limit is set to 70%. I got the 12v warning on Monday morning after being plugged into L2 on Sunday evening.
Drove to my warehouse (5 miles) and immediately plugged into L1 and left the...
Not sure if this answers your question, or just provides a data-point. When my 12v dual batteries were critical, I was told to keep it plugged into L1 (or L2, I suppose).
During the 48 hour wait for mobile service, I noticed the HV battery would drop 2-3%, then the L1 charger would kick in...
When I saw all the diagnostic screens on my mobile-tech's laptop after installing new 12v batteries (dual), I think I understand why they want to discourage owner-installed batteries.
My 12v was replaced today. 100000% plug it in now. Do not pass GO. Do not collect $100.
I am lucky; my mobile tech arrived within 2 days for the replacement. I am 250 miles from the closest SC.
Mine has dual 12v and died just the same. One battery, two batteries or 24 zillion batteries... whomever Rivian sourced them from (or whomever wrote the BMS software) has some 'splaining to do.
100 % satisfied. Mobile tech arrived to me on time, and within about 30 minutes the new batteries were installed.
I took too much of his time chatting about the battery swap process and overall Rivian tech, but it was (for him) a seamless install. Thank you to the Richmond VA service...
Credit where credit is due:
SC called me this afternoon and has scheduled mobile service (for Wednesday) to replace the dual 12v batteries. :) I'll hopefully update this thread with a positive outcome in a few days.
@mudito fingers crossed.
It is on the L1 and I rolled down the drivers window + disabled the gear guard - hoping to preserve the 12V. I tried this morning to also put it on a 12v tender from the rear pigtail, but the tender (Sav-a-Battery brand) squawked and said 'no charge'. I guess I...
