Got my A2Z adapter this afternoon and gave it a whirl, here in central North Carolina. First time plugging it in, took about 8 seconds. Truck immediately went to charge status, and it was a breeze. Rates (retail) aren't very good @ $0.41, but it's a great comfort to know the adapter and...
To me, $4800 seems fair for a brand new piece with prep, paint, install.
BUT, I would 100% try PDR first. My experience with a rear quarter bash (R1T) was outstanding. First PDR guy said "no way, I can't fix that." Second PDR guy said, "Let me take a shot!" Guess what? It turned...
Correct. They do. And they will. Maybe tomorrow, maybe in a few months, maybe longer.
I have no idea how long that takes. To scale up (like their investors demand) they will grow from their infancy to a mature automaker. I never said the current service was acceptable -- simply that it...
OK. I personally consider Rivian to be a 'new' company, and I bought mine with my eyes wide open.
I'm in the automotive parts business, and deal with limited availability parts and service every single day for small/exotic automakers. Absolutely nothing about the Rivian experience surprises...
It's not an excuse. It's reality. Rivian is not GM. They are in their infancy as an automaker. Anyone who says otherwise is just shining you on.
Building cars is hard AF.
My experience with scheduling and transport was D-. Once my truck was at the Richmond VA service center, the work performed was A+.
(I had full comms failure too -- a 12v disconnect/reconnect fixed it.... which I could have probably done on my own, but the SC never asked me to even try it...
I am sorry this happened. PDR works absolute magic.
Of course, I couldn't help but notice that your profile lists "Occupation: Attorney". Presumably, your time is worth far more than fluffing about asking Target for camera footage. Just get it fixed and move on. Life happens.
Thread revival....
Although I was originally scheduled for mobile service (I am in NC), the Richmond SC decided to have my R1T taken into the SC for evaluation. The scheduling, transport and repair was insanely easy and fast. I think/hope.
Anyway, I picked up the truck yesterday in...
Threads like this (and I wish the OP nothing but smooth sailing very very soon) remind me of a quote from Apocalypse Now:
"Never get out of the boat. Absolutely goddamn right. Unless you’re going all the way."
As somebody that has turned wrenches on stuff since I was in diapers, my R1T...
I have a 2-post lift at home, easily rated for the truck. Having done a tire rotation on my R1T before, there is zero chance I'd do it without proper pucks. No puck? No lift. They work, they're (basically) cheap, and they take all the drama out of the process.
I bet your GPS has bonked, and it doesn't know your location. Are you getting an SOS error on the dash and/or does the elevation + compass still work on your data screen?
Mine started doing the reset crap a few weeks ago... and then, voila, my entire LTE/GPS/WIFI failed, and has never come back on. Mobile service is scheduled about 4 weeks away.
And don't tell me to try a hard reboot; when the LTE/GPS/WIFI crashed, it killed the truck's ability to hard...
Misery loves company.
Drove my R1T 12xxx to work yesterday and everything was fine. Last evening as I started to go home, the truck lost all GPS, LTE, etc. Soft reset was worthless, and hard reset didn't do anything.
Mobile service has me scheduled for mid-June. 5 weeks out. Not super...
