I kind of like the truck. It should be reasonably priced, has a lot of cool storage/work features. Would be great for most of my use cases, and has just enough range to get to my summer campsite.
It's another one of those SPAC deals, so who knows what it means in the long run. It certainly...
My opinion is consistent. Which is to completely overhaul the tax code. Simplify it. No loopholes, no credits, no favorites being played. Basic fiscal responsibility and transparency would fundamentally change the system. This won't happen - it's broken and largely exists for it's own...
I don't see any effort to decrease the operating budget. There's ZERO effort being made to reduce the deficit from what I can tell. The only solutions on the table involve more spending AND and increase of the debt ceiling.
I made the decisions to not go in debt. I made the decision of what...
That's YOUR opinion.
It's the opposite opinion of mine, and that's fine.
People can be concerned about the affordability of a Rivian without tax credits, but they can also wait for economies of scale to kick in or opt for one that less equipped. A gun isn't being held to their head or...
Why should they pay more than they already do? As for me , I'm just an ordinary guy with a BSEE - not a trust fund kid or anything like that. No silver spoon here. Worked hard for everything I had, paid MY OWN way through university WITHOUT student loans. Yeah - I'm gonna say something when...
You presume I should be paying higher taxes, for what reason? Due to the fact that I don't think there should be tax credits?
So, who was responsible for for the devaluation of the currency? It wasn't me, but rather the group of incompetent lawmakers that can't balance their own checkbook...
How is that my problem?
Why should I, or anybody else have to subsidize somebody else's purchase (through tax credits)?
Wait until you you can actually afford the vehicle you want without stretching your financial situation to the limit. It's called being responsible.
I don't understand how...
Toyota doesn't typically do groundbreaking - they prefer safe/reliable instead.
I'd actually be surprised if the Subaru variant has increased ride height due to the impact to aerodynamics, and thus efficiency. The CrossTrek hybrid was dinged for its marginal efficiency improvements.
Note that the latest version of the infrastructure package is going after "Digital Assets".

The industry is filled with alphabet soup naming conventions - Audi, BMW, Mercedes, and more say hi!
This isn't exactly an EV only thing.
The Amazon vans are cookie cutter - one size fits all. Orders of magnitude simpler from a supply chain and manufacturing perspective when compared to the R1T/R1S. Volume ramp up takes time. They're simultaneously training a new work force, refining processes, while ensuring product quality...
OK, but the post I was replying to was somebody whining about early production issues and inability to option a vehicle up as desired and keep the incentive due to the price limit. The individual selects these things, so they need to be will to accept the costs associated with being an early...
If it was up to me there would be no incentives/subsidies for any specific technology. The choice to purchase a Rivan is YOURS, and the government should have no place in managing the risk associated with that choice. Wait if you want to reduce the risk.
How will this stuff be paid for?
SEC. 138203. SURCHARGE ON HIGH INCOME INDIVIDUALS, 20 ESTATES, AND TRUSTS
This and talk of taxing Non-realized/paper capital gains should concern everybody.
