  1. Windshield replacement - Safelite -- aftermarket vs OEM glass?

Do you see any issues or any functions that don't work, during this period, while waiting for it to be recalibrated?
  2. Windshield replacement - Safelite -- aftermarket vs OEM glass?

I shocked by the original $3000 quote. Most people have said that Rivian has charged about $1800 to replace and calibrate. Did you drive it any after windshield replacement, but before calibration? If so, did you notice any difference, or any function that wouldn't work?
  3. Rivian work week reduced to 2-3 days until inventory comes down

How long was it in the Service Center, to do those repairs. Did they give you a loaner?
  4. Power Tonneau Cover V2 (small slats)

Unless, for some reason, it would be extremely difficult to upgrade, it would make sense to do so. Rivian has a lot of these under warranty. If the latest iteration is substantially more robust, it will likely save them a good deal of money, over time. Not to mention improvement in customer...
  5. 2025.10 Update Now Installing

Probably most R1 vehicles have Connect+, certainly tens of thousands; so it won't necessarily get you an early DL.
  6. Power Tonneau Cover V2 (small slats)

Yeah, the upgrade (V1.5) PTC lasted from about April last year until January of this year. It always sounded a little rough, but never failed to open or close until it wedged a slat at an angle in January, and a piece of plastic (guide?) broke off. I don't use it unnecessarily, but since I do...
  7. Rivian now selling wiper blades

Are you still happy with these wiper inserts?
  8. Power Tonneau Cover V2 (small slats)

I talked with Rivian service again today. This guy wasn't sure if it would be the V1.5 or the new one (which he was calling V3). I asked him if it would be done the same day. He said it could be two to three days. Same thing they told me last year. He offered an Enterprise rental, but I won't do...
  9. Power Tonneau Cover V2 (small slats)

I will report back, as to how it goes. My R1T is my work truck; if they can't give me reasonable assurances of a quick turn around (when I get to the service center), I might have to delay it until they can do it quickly. I went through this a year ago when they installed the upgraded (V1.5)...
  10. V2 Tonneau - fail - COME ON RIVIAN… DO BETTER! (Edit: SOLVED)

Rivian service (on the phone this morning) assured me that they will be replacing my failed V1.5 PTC with the new V2 PTC, with the thinner slats. This is scheduled for 4-10-2025 (assuming the parts are there).
  11. Ran out of battery for the first time

I get down to single digits, from time to time, especially doing round trips from Phoenix to Tucson. I just keep an eye on projected range versus actual miles, and go slower (and use Conserve Mode) if I think it is closer than I'd like. And I keep an option to stop at a DCFC to add 10% or so, if...
  12. Power Tonneau Cover V2 (small slats)

I am scheduled for April 10 to have my PTC replaced (it has been broken/nonfunctional since January). They tell me it is to be replaced with the new V2 (small slats) PTC. They also told me (today) that parts are due in to the service center by the 10th (but I am concerned that won't be the...
  13. Power Tonneau Cover V2 (small slats)

Among those who have had the new V2 (small slats) installed, replacing the old (V1) version: a) were they able to begin work on the day that they scheduled the service, b) how long did they keep your truck to complete the install, 3) has the new PTC been functioning well since it was installed?
  14. V2 Tonneau - fail - COME ON RIVIAN… DO BETTER! (Edit: SOLVED)

OMG. I am scheduled on April 10 to have my V1.5 PTC (V 1.0 never worked) replaced with (they tell me) the V2 PTC. They said it should take 3 hours to replace the broken PTC with the new V2 PTC. How in the name of all that is holy can it require a multi-day stay to calibrate it? Edit: I have...
  15. Mercedes Benz Charging as Alternative to Tesla

They indicate there will be a future location(s) in the Phoenix area. Perhaps it will be at the future Buc-ees that is scheduled in west metro Phoenix (Buckeye?). It was originally scheduled to open this year, but it has been pushed back until 2026.
  16. Ran out of battery for the first time

Car wash mode might have allowed you to put it in neutral. I have also seen some YouTube videos where someone had pull-charged a Rivian. I'm sure that Rivian doesn't recommend it. I just remembered that they pull-charged a Rivian in "The Long Way Up."
  17. Rivian work week reduced to 2-3 days until inventory comes down

If this is true, there is no excuse for the long delays for replacement parts (not that I thought there was any acceptable excuse). Rivian is shooting itself in the foot, by continually pissing off the owners who are their brand ambassadors.
  18. Rivian work week reduced to 2-3 days until inventory comes down

If they had launched the R1S first, I would probably be driving a Lightning now. Sure, SUVs are a larger market - with more competition. There was no BEV pickup, when they announced the R1T, and it got Rivian an enormous amount of publicity.
  19. Custom Made Rivian R1T Truck Cap Topper (Autofitpro) Group Buy - Interested?

I don't think a U-bolt will fit. I have seen a report in the forum (a year or two ago) where someone cut a U-bolt, to make it a "J-bolt," which did work. It is a cheap but kluge solution. And probably more of a pain, if one removes or reinstalls it often.
