I will give another vote for having PlugShare.
We had owned a Tesla for 6 years prior to getting our R1T in January. The PlugShare app was very helpful for finding Chademo chargers the few times we used them instead of routing through a supercharger. However, I think the best use we have had...
It’s a nice solution and basically what we had for the last 6 years only we had a 2013 Model S, a 2004 Tundra Double Cab and a Van/Highlander. Your experience will be better with the longer range of the 3 and the Y but for us we just weren’t driving the S that much due to the “limited” range...
Similar for us. The R1T is one heavy beast. One month and 2600mi in and we are averaging about .525kwh/mi compared to .343kwh/mi on our old Model S.
No complaints here though because the R1T is much more comfortable for me and we are loving the increased range. Took the R1T on a weekend...
I took delivery at the Olathe, KS location. Switched from a max pack to a large pack on December 20th, the very next day was put into 8 steps, and took delivery exactly 30 days later.
Loving the truck so far after a month and over 2000 miles.
Ok that makes sense. I was at about 85% SOC and drawing 50KW+. In our S we would have been lucky to draw 25KW at that SOC so I thought it was great. Appreciate the education.
I’m a long time Tesla Model S owner but I had my experience with an EA charger on Saturday.
We stopped by the EA chargers at the Walmart in Vinita, OK just off I44. We didn’t really need to stop but it was on our way home, we needed some lunch anyway, and it seemed like a good opportunity to...
Got ours last Thursday. Only three weeks of ownership with our R1T and averaging about 600mi/week. Wife loves driving the truck too. I see frequent tire rotations in our future :) Thank you for the fast shipment!
We took our aero covers off and did a roundtrip this weekend to our lake place. I took the notes below but I don’t have a comparison with Aeros on. I think the main difference in my efficiencies on the two trips was due to a slightly different route on my return and elevation gain on the return...
Just got home from a ~500mi rountrip weekend trip that we make regularly. I had multiple issues with ACC disengaging due to the front camera being “blocked”. Extremely frustrating when there isn’t a regular cruise back up. I hope they address it quickly.
You don’t have enough room on that bus bar for a double pole breaker. And it looks pretty well loaded already with what you have there. My advice, call an electrician.
My advice, get your home charging setup to be as convenient as possible. When we bought our Model S six years ago I installed a 14-50 receptacle in the divide between our main and third car garage doors. That allowed it to be less than 3ft from the charge port in the driver side rear and it was...
I tried to talk my wife into selling the Highlander and keeping our Model S now that we have the R1T so we could be all electric. She said she’s not going all electric until she can have an SUV with 400mi on the dash, which is exactly what I had been saying about waiting for the Max pack until I...
Got my mats this week and love them. I like that they cover higher up in the front than the weather techs I had in my Model S. The mat surface also has better grip for your feet when entering/exiting than my weather techs. The best part is the coverage over the door sill plate. Great design.
This was essentially my conclusion as well. Switched my reservation from a max to a large pack on Dec. 22nd and will be taking delivery on Jan. 20. Decided it’s best to get the the large quad now rather than waiting on a max dual that may take well into 2024 to materialize.
This is excellent info and I really appreciate you sharing. My experience with our Tesla had me assuming the large pack would struggle to make 200mi on tougher condition days and this confirms it. I’m still leaning to taking a large pack for now with the reservation protected pricing and trading...
