I did wonder but the outer box and the pen itself say LA Silver. I think its just a bad batch. I’ll try to follow up with Rivian. I even peeled it back off and started again making sure I shook the thing a good 5 minutes first, but no improvement.
Bunch of small stuff thats annoying but doesn’t affect usage. Nothing out of the ordinary for an early Vin. Happy to have an early vin and be providing real world feedback. At 3200 miles now. Biggest current issue is tonneau just broke. I managed to open it, and now just waiting on updated parts...
Fwiw - I just checked my truck - pretty easy to do at max height and full steering lock. Nothing looks to have moved on mine, though one side is missing some markings. Ball joints are all fully threaded upper and lower. My vin is in the low 4000s.
Yes its a bit of a tool move to tag Tesla in it, but honestly this is a pretty scary failure when some of us have suspension clunking issues. I’m gonna go check mine right away and also filed a ticket about my clunking suspension based on this tweet, so its potentially good to spread this news...
I think the wind noise many of us have is due to poor side glass alignment vs what its supposed to be like. Mine is going in tomorrow and hopefully I’ll have a silent cabin shortly also.
I don’t think spare/no-spare is a massive difference maker. If you order a spare and the truck comes without it, you get the spare later? There definitely seem to be more 21” wheels on hand than 20” - that probably makes a difference.
Likewise. No issues in California. Have my plates and title within a few weeks.
Sorry for those having issues - I would be totally frustrated too - it is running smoothly in some cases though.
