This is the direction I hope the industry moves towards over the next few months/years. With all the talk on other threads about CCS being dead, I'd personally like to see it survive as an alternative in the near term (5-10 years) until all the players can define a better standard for EV...
We have 2 in Michigan that look like they are in final inspection phase - most likely opening prior to the end of the quarter.
I can't help but think this whole Tesla/Ford/GM/NACS thing is going to slow down the RAN development/rollout somewhat - hopefully not put an indefinite stop on the work.
Today the covers are off, looks ready to go except they are not powered up. Looks like they could be online s00n!
Anyone been by Saginaw lately to see what that site looks like?
I went past there yesterday. The pedestals are in place, but still covered. The area is still taped off and there are a couple of large reels of cable still sitting there - it has been this way for at least a couple of weeks.
RAN in Traverse City getting dispenser installation today - hopefully will be operational by Memorial Day!
The electricians told me there is a problem at the Saginaw site that will require more work, so that is still probably 2-3 weeks away from being online.
Driving past the RAN Traverse City site this afternoon I noticed dispensers there on pallets. Stopped by and chatted with the electricians. They expect them to be installed in the next couple of days, then we wait for final inspections - hopefully they will be operational by Memorial Day...
Electricians are working on the Traverse City, MI site today. A couple of big reels of cable are on the ground next to a couple of vans. I still did not see any dispensers around as I drove by though.
thanks - I'm going to be pulling a car trailer past there next week and that would have been an ideal place to charge... Guess I'm just going to have to block the road at the EA in Bay City.
thanks for that update. I did not know there was one in the works for Clare - I expected Saginaw to come online next. Timing is good - I'll be trailering a car from SE MI to Traverse City in a couple of weeks and will take advantage of this one unless Saginaw opens by then!
I was looking at that, but a friend just recommended this one from Harbor Freight - a bit more drop. I need to measure and see how low it will put my rack.
I'm 248 miles north of the Plymouth, MI SC, and took delivery 3/16/22. I've had mobile service 3 times for minor issues and a couple of the recalls. It was pretty easy to get scheduled. Once early last summer they flat bedded it to Plymouth and back for minor non drivability issues (tonneau...
Those of you heading up to the tip of the Mitt have a new DC option - RED has two 160 KW plugs now available in Cheboygan (downtown - parking lot State/Huron). I was picking up a bike a few blocks away and went over to check them out. I didn't need to charge but they both indicated that they...
I had these on my GMC Canyon last winter and they performed quite well. I put Hakka R5s on the Rivian in December after what I thought was very poor performance of the OEM 22s (with 7000 miles) in snow/ice conditions. The Hakkas are vastly better, as expected.
