I would also check out Ofland RV park and cabins. We have used a car camping spot (each has a 14-50 socket you can use the mobile charger with). They have cabins and you can get access to one or two 14-50’s for guest parking. Staying@ Boulder mountain lodge up the road (and/or eat at Hell’s...
yeah - we put about 25K miles/year and that gets very expensive with a lease. We have a Dual Max from Feb 24 with 19K miles already so depreciation on ours is too much to be able to make the lease work.
We are happy R1S owners but as empty nesters with a dog, the car is a bit overkill (size) for us and never use the 3rd row. We are probably ourliers but would love a roadtrip focused premium version of R2.
- much improved efficiency over R1
- much improved DC charging curve
- 400 + mile range...
here is out post VT->UT 2600 mile drive + a few hundred miles here in Southern UT. Kind of surprised lifetime efficiency is slightly higher now (2.64 from 2.62) despite all the highway driving.
wouldn’t that have wanted my car’s ID? I would have done that for sure if I knew that would work. I was thinking about doing it for them @ the Tesla chargers next door but I needed the Adapter for the rest of our trip west.
We were driving across country this weekend and stopped @ the Rivian charger outside of Cleveland OH. There was another R1S already there @ a charger. I asked how they were doing and the guy said they had picked up the rental R1 @ the airport and now needed a charge. The rental agency (not sure...
I went up and had my windshield replaced and asked them to work on the dash rattle. Windshield went great. Still a little dash rattle. Living in south hero the 90 min drive north was way better than heading to Boston and the team there was really nice.
some interesting info on tirerack on comparing efficiency between worn tires and new. https://www.tirerack.com/upgrade-garage/what-is-tire-rolling-resistance-changes-to-expect-when-switching-from-worn-out-to-new-tires
Dual Max Gen 1 with 21” wheels Update prior to our return trip to Utah. After three months here in Vermont our total miles is now 14,600 @ 2.62 mi/kwh and our miles here in Vermont is 4,600 miles @ 2.73 mi/kwh so improved from previous post. We live in a rural area so not much high speed...
It isn’t an issue for me and our R1S but when I first saw the seat design, that gap was a worry for me. Seems like a poor design over function decision to me. Hope you find a solution.
One thing you might check is whether when in All purpose mode, the rear motor is off most of the time (the auto conserve mode). It is easy to check by looking @ the drive mode display and it will show an animation on whether just the front wheels or both front and rear wheels are getting power...
I just filled out a Rivian survey after 6 months of ownership. There were some optional questions that had some interesting questions. For example whether I would want more range, how much more would be sufficient, and how much would I be willing to pay.
Overall pretty comprehensive -...
great - off topic but wondering how the suspension noise is on your Gen 2 (if you know vs gen1). It is a little thing but bugs me a bit about our gen 1.
Currently I wave and/or flash my lights at other Rivians on the road. Do others do that as well?
I was wondering if Rivian could add a little feature in upcoming releases to make it fun.
How about quickly pressing both outside buttons on the steering wheel (or something like that) and have...
