A new car of any value should be free of scratches and chips in the paint. There are some sloppy areas too... I think I have maybe one of those issues on mine and no paint chips.

I installed mine yesterday. Seems aligned but when I press on the pad, I can feel the contours of the pucks. I was not really able to get the top to "snap in" to the bottom. It's not noticeable, so not sure I need to worry.

Good idea. I have similar sized DeWalt tool boxes for various heavy tools and they hold up well. None with wheels, that's what makes this really cool.
