I didn't read all the posts here, but I'm a big supporter of PPF. I put it on all my cars (front end only), whether it is a nice car or a cheap daily driver.
Granted the front end "only" costs $2000ish but it is still not an inexpensive modification.
You have to realize that some people...
Mine went from "January - December 2024" to "January - June 2024".
A friend who has basically same spec. Blue but different wheels went to "May - June 2023".
I may not have been that detailed in my original post but...
I tried both All Purpose and Sport. Sport definitely had a more sensitive throttle response (along with suspension "tightening") but I wouldn't say it was "faster". It was just more sensitive. This is common among performance...
I did admit I didn't push the pedal to the floor, but I felt like I got close.
I have a refreshed Tesla Model S and a couple of other fast cars. I know what a 3 second 0-60 feels like. The Rivian is supposed perform at those numbers. The Telsa Model S feel is so SIGNIFICANTLY different than...
I'm a December 2021/early January 2022 (I forgot) preorder.
My date is "January - December 2024". :P I actually don't mind THAT much since I got a 2022 Telsa Model S about 3 weeks ago. It is working fine as a daily/family hauler now and it'll give me some time to save up as well as Rivian to...
Wow this thread got long, quickly.
Got my email 15 minutes ago and logged in. My preorder date late December 2021/early January 2022, I forgot.
Estimated delivery looks to be January - December 2024. A whole year range lols.
Honestly, I do not mind. I just picked up a 2022 Tesla Model S...
Consensus is that I didn't actually put the pedal to the floor in Sport mode. I generally don't have to in my experience to determine the general driving dynamics, but suppose the Rivian is different.
Nope, not a Plaid but the Long Range. Still a 3 second 0-60mph sprint and significantly faster above 60mph than prior models.
Even though not a Plaid, yes very different vehicles. A bit muted, as with most EVs, but I expected the general dynamics to be similar to the Rivian.
As stated above...
Well, with a guide sitting there next to you who didn't really seem like the "performance enthusiast" type, it is going to be a little difficult.
Side to side movement was very floaty so I assumed cornering hard may not be that great. Is it categorized as a "performance vehicle"? I'm not sure...
I received an email saying I could schedule a test drive/first drive at my local service/delivery center. Spots filled up very quickly. I signed up within the hour. 2 hours later, I tried to change it to the following Friday and every Friday was completely booked.
Interestingly enough, the...
I did not floor it all the way, good point. Since my guide was in the passenger seat, I didn't want to get too crazy. I admit, there could be a lot I'm missing by not pushing that pedal down another couple inches. The pedal travel is quite long I noticed.
I'm happy to hear this from someone...
I was lucky enough to be invited to an R1S test drive last week at my local Costa Mesa, California center. I typically never test drive any vehicles I'm interested in since I research specs, "quirks and features", and other things quite extensively. The quality of the ride itself never matter...
Hatch = the trunk/section with glass/part that goes up.
Liftgate = the small piece that folds down
That's interesting, so you CAN move the "trunk" manually. The resistance I experienced was much firmer than other electronically actuated trunks so I was hesitant to keep moving it.
So that...
Can the rear hatch be closed manually?
Rather, should it be? When asking at the Venice, California hub, they didn't know but they felt because there was a lot of resistance, you should NOT manually open/close the hatch. I did move it a few inches manually, but there was a lot of resistance so...
The difference here is the OP doesn't have the vehicle yet, it is still in pre-order status. If he isn't comfortable/ready to take delivery because of financial matters (for example), then he should cancel the order.
Yes once he has the vehicle, he is free to do whatever he wants. Keep it...
Same story. Ordered tail end of 2021. Haven't heard a thing.
I'm even on the "friends and family" priority list. I'm also in no rush since I just took delivery of a Tesla Model S. I don't think the wife will enjoy dropping cash for two expensive vehicles too close together haha.
For those color seats, I think white/light looks better but I'd still go with black since I'd get so mad at myself if I got it dirty. Since the headliner is a fabric material and not leather, if it got dirty, it would be nearly impossible to clean.
