I occasionally have the same warnings along with ride height not working. Leaving the vehicle alone and allowing it to sleep reset "fixes" the problems. I agree it seems like software.

For me the problem is the "relocking in the cracked position" part. Why does it do that? If I unlatch the door, I expect it to stay unlatched until I either open it fully, or push it closed.

Since the OP has crossbars installed, there's no way for him to pull the wheel&tire straight up - the spare tire door only opens partway as it hits the rear crossbar. This is why I secure the strap to the rear of the wheel.

It really depends on the manufacturer and exactly what is replaced under warrantee. I had the entire engine replaced in my ICE car under warrantee (would have cost me $27K) and it was covered for 2 years from the time of replacement independent of the original warrantee.

This indicates to me a lack of confidence in their quality.
