I love the harsh requirements placed on Rivian's success (and every company right now). As if they aren't a new automaker who just did their first full year of production. Look at other EV startups year 1, 2, 3 production numbers and you will see less ramp rate than Rivian is on track to do. I'm...
Love seeing some real ATs on the truck!
Personally I have experience with Goodyear Duratracs (loud and slick in rain) and the Toyo AT3 (excellent all around) and I wouldn't hesitate to put the Toyos on the R1T when needed. I'm sure everyone is eeking about losing another 30 miles of range, so...
Rivian is following the Tesla model. Expect the R2 platform to be traditional coil sprung to reduce cost. The R1 model is a high end vehicle with category leading suspension. I doubt there is any $ in it for them to make a simplified coil spring R1, even if it is more reliable than air.
Relax. It takes time. Wait until they give you a delivery date, then pounce. I'm in my "8 steps" and still sit on eggshells. No big deal. IT IS COMING!
Absolutely - surprised I haven't seen another forum member with that combo yet!
Yes it is a 2023 according to one of the summary pages. Will definitely upload some pics here when it happens.
Tesla is going to be interesting to watch this year with the new tax credit applying to the Model Y and base Model 3 - talk about a win for them.
To be fair though, they were offering $7500 and free supercharger miles in Dec to take delivery.
I'm still agreeing that 24,xxx is a huge achievement this past year but it's likely the market won't see it as a win.
Similar story over at TSLA, they 'missed' their target also (while hitting over 400k units last quarter and growing 40% YoY).
Got VIN and Insurance and signed purchase dated 12/30/2022. I was hoping to dodge the 2023 limits and claim it on 2022 even though I won't receive it until Jan... Time to hire a good CPA! ?
First off - good news for people that have been waiting. $4500 off and you get the max pack as early as 2023 instead of 2024. Yeah, Dual motor instead of Quad but you can still have TRX Power. Interesting that the tow rating is unchanged, even though the Max will have more weight onboard...
I'd get the dual motor. Cheaper. 600hp. More range. Nothing to complain about there. It could be less capable on or off-road but that has yet to be quantified.
I'm liking the aftermarket option for a spare. The Dodge Ram wheel is a great idea and low cost. Most spares just gather dust anyways. I have a full size spare on my ZR2 and have never used it despite multiple off-road adventures...
