  1. Q2 2023 Results -- $RIVN on the right trajectory: earnings solid and revenue, margins all heading in the right direction

I am surprised no analysts asked about service. It’s an issue that, I think, will slow growth. If owners today have to wait 60+ days for service, imagine what happens with the 100,000+ Rivians. It’s the biggest pain point I have by far - and it’s awful with Tesla too - they never scaled...
  2. Today at Wawa ....

Wawa is most definitely better than Sheetz. But, Sheetz has so many Tesla SCs on East Coast and Sheetz has better frozen drinks that aren’t some unidentifiable frozen liquid (looking at you 7-11). Someone did tell me the other day my R1S looks like a “box on wheels”. My response was “that’s...
  3. Update: 2023.26.00 (new features, improvements, and bug fixes)

No one here has reported not getting it or anything like that and there don’t appear to be showstopping bugs. Maybe call and wait on hold for a couple of hours to ask for it… :-)
  4. Today at Wawa ....

Would it have been rude to ask which car was his and then tell him it’s ugly? Where I live, there are so many R1Ts, and more and more R1S every day, that nobody stops me - which is fine with me because the two people who have asked about it insist on pronouncing it “Rivi-ahhhn”.
  5. Tire Conundrum

Range improvement over AT 20”? That get you back to the 321 of range for 21” AS…
  6. Alexa, open the garage door

But Alexa can tell you the weather! And Madonna’s birthday! Super useful.
  7. 3 hour wait time for texting Rivian

I had to chat with service today and it was actually pretty quick. If you’re just calling CS in general - yes, lines can be tough. That said, I was an early Tesla adopter and it was never this bad in the early days. There are what, 45,000 R1 family trucks out there?
  8. Not a joke...4.5 months to get a service appt in LA?!?!?

Earliest I could get was end of October and I grabbed it today. This is for a leaking air suspension in front left suspension. It’s crazy. In Tesla’s early days, SC appointments were actually very easy to get. I realize I am early adopter, but doesn’t make me feel great.
  9. Leaving R1S at airport for 12 days?

Yep. That would require Rivian Service to respond. I am only 25 minutes from an SC but radio silence since I put in my request a week ago. Don't mean to be off topic. My point was vampire drain is not an issue (for me) and I'd have no issue leaving my car somewhere for 12 days even if it...
  10. Tire Conundrum

Will Rivian sell just the wheels/rims and no tires? Website says “wheel and tire set”. I am sure they’d be happy to take the tires off for you - but not for a discount. My point is, if you don’t already have the 20s, seems like you should get the set from Rivian then wait for those tires to...
  11. Leaving R1S at airport for 12 days?

Others in the forum have stated Rivian recommends plugging the truck in overnight at home, every night. But I can’t find a reference to that anywhere in an official Rivian doc except the already cited “extended” language in the warranty. I don’t think vampire drain is an issue. I’ve parked my...
  12. R1S pre-order wait times

If you email and call their CS contact info and tell them you're flexible and will pick it up at the factory or, better for Rivian, another SC, you will likely get it sooner. But you'll have to deal with the registration folks mention here and in other threads re: out of state. They are...
  13. R1S delivery from R1 Shop -- average delivery time from selection?

Super interesting @Arnie1 re: no more batching. That's good news as it means they can be even more efficient though they have to switch certain configs from order to order (very smart to have all be 7 seat though!). Feels like ramp up is really picking up speed.
  14. Tire wear using Conserve Mode after ~ 6000 miles

Couple thoughts: 1) OEM Tires - My teslas all had continentals. I’d take pirelli over continental any day. 2) Not sure why the Dual Motor has the same tires if FWD will wear them out dramatically faster. Just don’t think that’s the case. Maybe it is. 3) Conserve gives me about 35 more miles...
  15. R1S delivery from R1 Shop -- average delivery time from selection?

Couple of thoughts: 1) Not every car they produce has an “owner” because of batch production. So they assign them to SCs during production. That’s one reason an SC has a car today that isn’t assigned (they do try to match before shipping it, of course). 2) Not everyone has the dollars to...
  16. What do you want addressed in the next OTA update?

Wait, I noticed a choice to use proximity for unlocking and have it “off” at home. This is a choice from the main screen of the car…does it not work? Also, if that’s an option, then my S DOES know when it’s home so letting it automatically open the garage should not be difficult at some point...
  17. Anyone Tip Mobile Service Techs?

I’ve always tipped the mobile service folks going back to my first Tesla in early 2013. To be fair, back then, and for a long time, I DID have the same 1-2 folks come out regularly, so I felt like I got better service, etc. Today, I wouldn’t do it. I feel guilty, but it’s not like they’re...
  18. How long should I expect "Delivery scheduling opens soon" to take. Ballpark

Plaid is actually extremely secure and used by a ton of the largest financial institutions- and you can use it day of. I was told I could use a cashiers check if it was received three days before delivery.
  19. How long should I expect "Delivery scheduling opens soon" to take. Ballpark

Just expect 4-6 weeks. The <10 day stories here are awesome, but delivery won’t open up until your vehicle is at the SC and, really, after they’ve inspected it. So, travel time and quality control are the keys.
  20. What do you want addressed in the next OTA update?

@torgo The newest version of the app, which is maybe two weeks old now, gives you the ability to turn on heat or AC from the app, as well as temp control other “surfaces” as the app calls them.
