  1. latest VIN for R1S

Bump. Any updates from folks who have recently matched or taken delivery? Last VIN posted here is 15,8xx. Insane since mine is 12,xxx and was built in June, so it's like they're building 2,000 per month or more.
  2. R1S Shop access live with lots of inventory!

This is correct. I suspect it's because anyone can get R1T access if they "reserve". The same is not true for R1S.
  3. Charging speed vs. Tesla for same hardwired charger

This makes total sense. I've been trying to figure out why my Model X can get 35 miles of range per hour at 48A and my R1S gets 25 (at best). I guess that's the difference between moving a 5,000lb, more aerodynamic X versus a 7,000 lb, less aerodynamic (but bad a--!!!) R1S.
  4. Charging your R1T 70 or 85%

My "ask" is Rivian try to provide better guidance on what will truly negatively impact battery life. Obviously, charging to 100% (and leaving it there for a bit) is bad to do over and over. Same with fast charging a ton. However, my sense (from owning three Teslas) is it should not matter...
  5. R1S second row seats are laughably hard to manipulate

They’re definitely frustrating. I’ve gotten the technique down so I can get the seat bottom back to where it started - have to push that into place before you touch the seat back. But, the seat back goes to original “near 90 degree” position no matter what. It’s a pain, but no car or truck...
  6. Rivian Weekly Responds - 7/30/23

We are all early adopters. This is the main price you pay to be an early adopter - and no, waiting a year for a fix isn’t “beyond early adopter”. If you’d prefer to wait, you could have. Those who have the broken power tonneau - that sucks, but at least you’re driving your T. You could easily...
  7. Frustrated today with route planner and "send to vehicle"

I have had no issue sending the exact trip from the Rivian app to my S. That’s not my personal issue. However, the navigation and charging decisions the Rivian app makes (as well as the nav in the car), are terrible - regardless of what options I use. Rivian’s onboard navigation isn’t just...
  8. “New” Quad Motor R1T pricing is crazy and not sustainable (even if Cybertruck priced higher than original reveal price estimate)

The foundation of the arguments here really seems to be folks getting emotional about Tesla sniffing out Rivian. I don’t think that will happen - even if CT is a huge success. Tesla also isn’t dumb. They say what Rivian had and now CT will have a quad motor - so Tesla will try to compete...
  9. “New” Quad Motor R1T pricing is crazy and not sustainable (even if Cybertruck priced higher than original reveal price estimate)

If I were in the market for an R1T, there are plenty of used ones in the $76k price range with relatively low mileage. I would definitely not pay $90k for it. Or the R1S I just bought with pre price hike price. Tesla can afford to undercut competition and they do have economies of scale. I...
  10. latest VIN for R1S

Also comes with first aid kit.
  11. R1S Shop access live with lots of inventory!

Based on all the posts/action here and Ss in the shop, they’re definitely ramping production! Great to see! Enjoy your R1Ss and those who are waiting - it’s 1,000% worth it!!!
  12. Gaithersburg, MD Service Center Officially Open!

Picked up my R1S there Monday. Very nice interior and waiting area. For those waffling on colors, wheels, etc, they had 30+ new R1Ss there earlier this week. Only color missing was canyons red and yellow. But they had those on R1Ts. Very easy to drive around back of service center and look at...
  13. Camp Speaker not charging?

I have same issue with R1S camp speaker delivered Monday. Charging it externally now as I somehow missed that despite reading the manual 20 times before delivery! Will then test and report back. For others who say it just won’t charge or hold a charge, have you asked your SC for help and/or to...
  14. R1S Shop access live with lots of inventory!

This is where the VIN info is confusing folks. This is an R1S thread and the VIN you're putting forth is likely an R1T VIN. Best I can tell they're close to VIN 13,000 for the R1S at end of June 2023. They're well above that for the T. The month of build is clearly shown on the vehicle...
  15. Any Update to RAN pay or free?

Not too concerned about this. They have to make owners pay and I expect it will be similar pricing to Tesla. No one gets free supercharging any longer (except the limited referral promotions) and if you do, it's because your Tesla is super old. As others have said, there are so few RAN...
  16. R1S Shop access live with lots of inventory!

One other item - there seems to be a lot of confusion here about VINs and build dates. My R1S was built in June 2023 with a VIN of 12,xxx. Side note: I don't know why we have to "x" all these out since a VIN is easily seen from a windshield and there's nothing anyone can do knowing your...
  17. ? LIMESTONE R1S Photos

Got mine today and will post photos tomorrow. LImestone is amazing. Wasn't quite sure - even after all of these photos and stalking the SC near me. But it was a sunny day here and it's like a chameleon - amazing hues in all different types of light and shade.
  18. Need help with options to speed-up R1S

Your best bet is to buy a "used" R1S quad motor Launch or Adventure online. You don't have pre-increase protection anyway, so you won't be paying more and you can find one for $90,000 with under 500 miles pretty easily. If you want it now, that's the way you'll get it. They'll continue to go...
  19. R1S Shop access live with lots of inventory!

There are too many "how long did it take to get your car threads" so I am just posting here. If you're like me, but you don't have your Rivian yet, you'll enjoy another post to help you kill time and maybe pick-up something new. VIN Matched June 30, took delivery July 24 (today). Reserve and...
  20. Tesla Model X Owner’s First Drive of an R1S: Disappointing Experience

Since we have to prove we've got a background here, I had a 2016 Model xX P90D (vin in 400s), 2021 Y and a 2022 Model X and picked up my R1S today (made in June 2023). Bottom line: The X and R1S are totally different vehicles. My sub 500 vin creaked like a pirate ship for years and had panel...
