As I put in my original thread, "A bird in the hand", hell maybe I just should have waited and let my time expire in the shop and I would have received my original config before I receive the one from the Shop. At this point it no longer matters.
These are builds that have been orphaned, people for what ever reason, whom are ahead of you and me in the queue changed their mind. I got the invite to browse "the Shop" and see if anything was to my liking. Why I was ahead of ksujeff99 in the process I have no idea. Why people with 2021...
So I'm sharing my continuing journey as one of the 1st res holder to be granted access to the "R1 Shop".
I received the following yesterday after my delivery appt was confirmed on the phone w/ SC Mgr. and via email.
Appointment Cancellation
Hi Alan,
We have canceled your upcoming delivery...
Well I told you I would give you an update on how long it too to go from right coast to left coast, well pretty fast.
So after talking to the Mgr at the SC I got the real info on the truck. It was originally assigned to Brooklyn NY, however the buyer backed out and it was shipped from Normal...
Yes, there where a bunch of Forest Green trucks when I was shopping also, however there were never more than 16 total at any time. As I put in my review once you pull the trigger and commit to the config you no longer have access to the "Shop" and get a 404 error on the web page, ie your link...
Per my guide and the info from the shareholders meeting, the reason for the "Shop" is people backing out of their orders after they have confirmed them and they went into production. This forum is only a small portion of res holders and probably does not do a fair representation of total orders...
Yes, you have a very early res, however your config is an Explorer, they are not going to reach out to you unless you have an LE or Adventure config saved.
#1 Per the FAQ's inside the "Shop" Your windows ends in 7 days, there may be another opportunity at a later time.
#2 No info is available before selecting, the VIN shows up in your account immediately. BTW I would have canceled if it had been a very low VIN however that was not the case. It was...
Yes, I couldn't agree more. I think Rivian should also include the location & Vin of the Trucks that are available, it would help with the decision making process and reduce work on their part.
On Wednesday I posted that I received access to the shop and would post my finding. I don't want to take over this tread, so I started a new one with my findings: https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/%E2%80%9Cintroducing-the-r1-shop%E2%80%9D-from-a-customer-perspective.6088/
Hopefully...
I received the following email on Wednesday, per my guide I was one of the 1st to receive due to my early res date, Oct 2019.
When exploring the "Shop" you are presented with the current inventory available for selection at that time, and yes it does change in real time. I was going to pull...
I was assigned a truck, however I rejected it due to issues it had. I don't want to get into the particulars however be leery of an older out of sequence VIN. They probably dropped me back into the lottery.
